Every time I write a cover letter for a job I do not think I push the limits to establish a "WoW" factor on behalf of what I write in the description. What's the best way to blow the manager's mind when they read it?

Hi all, I was wondering how I should address a cover letter. I found the job listing via a website, but they did not make it clear who would be reading the cover letters. Should I address it to the person whose name is listed as the intended e-mail recipient or is this probably a secretary or administrative assistant?

I'm going to an engineering job fair at my school. I have a general cover letter, but I was wondering if I should bring it to the job fair. Most of the companies have so many people coming that I doubt they will have time (or want to) actually read a cover letter. Should I give them my resume and cover letter when they ask for my resume or just give them my resume only?

Is a good cover letter important when applying for a job? When I say job, I mean a job like computer programming or teaching not cashiering at a supermarket. So, I guess, a more professional job is what I mean. Is it fine if a cover letter is very brief and straight to the point? For example, can you just say that you've worked in this place for this many years and add a couple of your good work ethics?. Would this get you the job along with a good resume?

Hello, I graduate college in May, and I thought now would be a good time to start on the job hunt thing. There's a company out of state I really want to work for. I want to send my resume to them, along with a cover letter. I know how to write a cover letter, however I've only ever written cover letters to places that had a job advertised. How do I write one when there is no job advertised? What should I include in the letter?? Thanks for your help in advance!

I'm only in high school and I am applying for a job that requires a resume, do I need to include a cover letter? The job isn't that great but it does require multiple things. How common is a cover letter in a resume? I have no previous experience in other jobs or volunteer work so I don't think I could even make one that is important.
