Phone interview tips, for someone going through it for the first time?

These will be my first job interviews; all my other jobs were on-campus, and didn't really have an interview process. I have a BS in biology, and these are mostly lab jobs I'm applying to. I have my resumes and such, but I need interview tips.

Some jobs have phone interviews first; I've been on some in-person interviews that weren't as bad as I thought they'd be (from what I read); I'm just looking for general tips.

Review the resume you sent in so if they ask you a question about it you don't give an answer that sounds like you lied or exaggerated. Possibly keep an outline of it in front of you with some notes to provide more detail about your qualifications since resumes frequently leave important points out. Possibly have a list of questions you want to ask about the company.

Don't be rustling papers. Leave a second or two after a question is asked before answering to give the impression you're a person who is careful about what they say then answer directly and to the point.

First off, make sure you have no background noise. (TV, radio) Then make sure your answers are clear and precise. It helps if you are not lounging around while on the phone. Find a nice comfy chair and sit in it straight like you would if you were in the interview.(It shows in your voice)

Be confident.

I have an interview at Gloria Jeans coffee shop tomorrow. I really want this job and I was just wondering if anyone had any tips. I'm planning on wearing khaki pants a pair of heels and a black dressy shirt...but I'm open to suggestions on what to wear. Basically...I just want interview tips in general..but if anyone has worked there and has suggestions that are more specific..it would be really appreciated.

I read various articles about the job interview tips. Many authors suggest to give clear example during an interview. I did just that, and I felt like I bored the interviewers to death. Please advice. Thank you Sorry, English is my second language.
