When you first go in to the interview room, don't sit down until the interviewer asks you to take a seat.

When they are asking you questions in the interview, try to give full answers to the questions that they are asking. Instead "yes, and no" It's good to look, or think of questions they might ask. So you can practise them before the interview, etc.

The night before, or on the morning of the interview take a shower, and make sure you are fully clean, like cut your nails, clean your ears, wash your hair, and also try on the clothes you are going to wear for the interview, so you are positive that they still fit you, if you've not worn them in a while.

When coming to the end of the interivew, and the interviewer says is there any other questions? Try to think of at least two, or three questions about the job, or something related to it. It shows that you are interested in the job. Think of some questions to ask before the day of the interview, like write them down.

At the end of the interview and you are about to leave, shake the interviewer's hand, and thank the interviewer for the interview, and for their time.

Good lucky lovely :)

Be yourself. Don't lie about any of your qualifications. Be sure to ask any questions you have about the job, they like to know you have actual interest in the position you are applying for rather than just going in to try to get a job "cuz I need money" Let them know you are excited about the possibility of working for them.

Employers want to hire people who are pleasant and who would truly enjoy the job. They are looking for people who are going to stick around and not be gone within a few months, so let them know that you are planning on staying with them. Even if you might be moving eventually or find a better job in the future, don't bother telling them that. That just shows them you are not focused on being their employee and are only thinking of leaving them as soon as possible. You can always let them know about any moves or new job offers after you have been working there for awhile and know it will happen for sure.

That's all I can think of for now. Good luck!

Dress smartly, don't over do the hair or make up, subtle and neat is good. be positive about your good points. shake hands and don't sit until the interviewer has sat. speak in a clear voice and don't interrupt. ask any questions when offered the chance, and be yourself. supermarket interviews are just the first part of the process in getting the job, you will have an induction and a chance to meet your department manager and supervisor. hope it all goes well for you and the best of luck.

Things might be different across the pond. But the general idea should be the same. The other posters have given good information.

The only things I could add is to be prepared to say why you want to work there, of all places. And go in with the purpose of making them see you as the best person for the job. If there is any competition, and there usually is, you want to leave the interview with them thinking that they will not find a better employee than you.

Good luck, then!

I`m pretty shy, and I get REALLY nervous public speaking. But there's this program for people who are 15-18 that lasts 10 days near me. It's public speaking, job interview tips, behaviour management, public speaking seminars, interactive workshops. It sounds interesting, but I get so nervous public speaking. Do you think they expect you to be all outgoing and stuff? What do you think? It's a "leadership-in-training" program. Thanks for answering.
