Any job search tips that would help me?

I am going to complete my Ugrad degree in Economics with 2 minors in Pol Sci and Mathematics. I've been having a hard time in finding a decent job despite my skills. Im looking for jobs in the field of Finance- Securities/ Investment Firms, Brokerage Firms, Etc. My GPA is not top notch- a 3.37, but it's not bad either. I've had several interviews so far and although i've heard back from some companies, those were the jobs that i did not really want. I've worked in a Law Firm before and i've also worked as a teaching Assistant/ tutor for elementary/ middle school kids. Is there any way that I can make myself more marketable? Any tips for job interviews/ job search?

1. First of all do what you enjoy. Trust me, doing this ensures better job prospects and also better income.

2. Since you have a good record, getting a job would not be a problem. Just need to be alert to get the opportunity.

3. Try doing something innovative.

4. Be confident and be yourself at the interviews. An attitude that is confident and progressive will usually get you more jobs.

5. Be honest. Tell them how long you would like to work but assure them of your loyalty.

Hope this helps. All the best

We are entering a recession and the job market will be really bad for at least a year, so if you can stay in school. If not take what you can get. My daughter, who had qualifications similar to yours, graduated during the 1991 recession and only 3 people she knew got a job before graduation and she did not get a good job for almost a year. She send out hundreds of resumes but got no job offers until the economy improved and then she got 4 in one week. If is discouraging to look for a job in a bad economy, but keep in mind that it is not you, and every job has a hundred applicants.

Misery of this sorts does enjoy company. Many of us are broke and play like we aren't. For me, gas has killed me. I've worked at the same job now for 11 years. I can no longer afford the rising price of gas. I can no longer afford the rising cost of electricity. Clothing seems more expensive. Food seems more expensive. Everything costs so much I can barely make ends meet. I work hard, and no, I'm not taking a second job because life is not about work. I want my same job that paid my way through all these years. I'm financially sound, and honestly I do not live beyond my means. My problem with being poor is directly related to the rising costs of everything. And yes, I've gotten raises through the years, but due to the rising costs they seem worthless now. My medical insurance has deteriorated through the years too. Thank God I have no credit card debt. So, I'm just asking everybody who would like to share.... "How poor are you"?

I graduated with three BAs and a minor with a 3.4 GPA, I'm fluent in three languages, I got an internship and they liked my work so much they decided to pay me a full time salary for my internship, made the dean's list, leadership honor society, multiple clubs .... and I can't even find a part time job! I don't understand ... I really thought I was doing everything right ... everything I was supposed to do I thought I did and now I have $96 in my bank account and I haven't even paid my bills for this month (despite having 0 debt). My parents are retired and can barely support themselves in a small town (where I couldn't find a job) so it's not like I can move back to save money or ask them for help... seriously, what can I do? I'm so desperate at this point, I'm open to any and all ideas! Working for the government (yes i'm even looking into that) requires that I wait 6+ months for them to do a background check.. what do I do in that time? seriously, any and all (serious) ideas or advice is welcome ... I'm going to be homeless by the end of the month anyways ... so nothing u could say will hurt! Thanks for any help I dunno if this helps, but I live in florida and im 22 ... and no I don't want to die in this war so I'm not looking into the military
