Do you have any good tips to find a job with an online job search?

Seems like the most straightforward way to find a job these days is by searching for it online. Can you recommend some useful tips for a successful online job search?

There's no one "straightforward way" to search for and find a job; you'll have to use several routes at once. This means applying to jobs posted to many different job search sites and job boards. http://www.jobvirtue.com is just one example of hundreds (if not thousands) of such websites. Do keyword searches for positions you're interested in, read the job description carefully, make sure you have the proper skills and experience (remember to highlight them in your resume and cover letter), and apply. Some postings may ask you to fill out a form, call, or fax your resume instead of emailing--be sure to follow these instructions to the letter.

Be sure also to check out job boards for your specific industry; they'll be more specialized than the general job websites that list every kind of job imaginable.

I live in a relatively small city and I've been searching for a job for some time. Since I'm going to college, I'd like a part time one rather than full time. I would also say I'm qualified for a variety of jobs as I am Bilingual, have a 3.7 college GPA, and I've previously worked retail before. I haven't had luck lately and I need some more help for finding a job quick for my expenses! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I've been having a really hard time getting jobs and i've done many applications however i haven't received a call yet. I also never held a job before so this would be my first. How long would i have to wait to hear a respond? Also Does anyone have any tips for me? The jobs i've been applying in are mainly in the clothing stores, since it deals with somewhat of a design and art.
