What is the legal patient to LPN ratio in a nursing home?

I work in a nursing home, and they have 1 LPN to 47 nursing home residents on a floor. It's in Pennsylvania, and I cannot seem to get a forward answer. I do not think this is legal, and I feel that it is also morally wrong to have the LPN work under those conditions. Does anyone know how many residents to an LPN are an acceptable number?

Hun, get out of the Nursing home and bridge your LPN to RN. The LPN position is limited. You will only find jobs working in nursing homes - hospitals nationwide do NOT hire LPN's.
