Can employers look up how much your wage or salary was at previous jobs?

Yes and no, it depends how ethical is the company. Usually when the hiring process happens through HR department they won't ask this kind of question, cause they know it's one of the illegal questions of the job interview. Your future employer doesn't have right to know what was your previous salary or wage. However, many times employers just ignore this rules and would ask you this question. So, if you are brave enough you can confront them :))...Here are more illegal questions that you might be asked on the job interview.
1. ur Nationality...
2. What is your native language... ( instead they can ask u what languages do you read, speak or write fluently?)
3. Religion related questions ...
4. ur Age... (however, they can ask if you are over 18)
5. Marital and Family Status
6. Do you smoke or drink?
7. Do you live nearby?
8. How far is your commute? ( Instead u can ask can u start working at 8 am ?)
Etc,etc....

Yes, they simply pick up the phone and ask them. Takes 30 seconds to verify and a VERY dumb thing to lie about.

I've been applying to jobs and they obviously do a background check on employees that they hire. I have worked 2 jobs and did not put them on my resume. 1 job i worked at for a 1 month and realized it wasnt for me. and the other was 2 weeks and I had family issues and had to leave. I did not give notice to these jobs before leaving. These jobs were not big coorporations. What will show up on the background check?

I have an interview tonight at Victoria Secret, I have retail experience but I was wondering if you needed or should bring in a resume of job history to this interview. I currently work Abercrombie and if I would have brought a resume to that interview, it would have been a joke. Just wondering. Thank you!
