What to wear for a veterinary assistant interview?

I have an interview for a veterinary assistant position at a prestigious animal hospital next week. The job itself would require wearing comfortable clothing (probably scrubs) but I obviously want to show that I am serious about the job opportunity. Because I can't gauge what to wear from the actual daily attire, I'm having trouble deciding what is appropriate for the interview. I'm not new to the interview process, just never had one for this particular type of work. Is a business suit overkill? Should I tone it down and just wear a nice blouse and slacks (I am female). Any input from others who work in the veterinary field would be appreciated. Thank you!

I actually asked my vet tech professor because I have one and she said to wear scrubs! It was a definite answer too. She said that though this may be the initial interview you dress like you already have the job. You also may be asked to perform skills and so you do not want to Do that in nice slacks.
