I got a call back for a waitress interview at Harbor Inn Seafood Restaurant yesterday at 5:30, and didn't receive the voice mail until this morning on the way to my "other" job. I am wearing jeans and a nice blouse, but I won't have time to go home in between to change pants before the interview. Do you think jeans will be ok?

I have an interview at one of NYC's hot spots tomorrow and I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced an interview like this before. What types of questions do they ask and how do I answer them? How should I dress? Should I wear perfume? How should I do my hair? I think it would be drastic if I dressed like the girls that work there since they're always in club attire but I might be wrong. So help! Lol Thanks in advance. :)

Ive applied for quite a few jobs and been called for interviews at 2 places upto now, which is lucky. One of them i found out the interview is really lively and you have to act like an entertainer even though i applied to be a waitress and i dont think i can do that sort of things as im very timid when it comes to things like that. then the second is just a normal waitress interview, but the pay is rubbish to say what i have to do. but i recently applied for a job at a very expensive shop which has a fantastic salary and benefits, and also suits me more to what i want to do when im older. but i dont what to turn down the other 2 interviews for one that i havent got yet. i dont want to end up in a job i dont enjoy or get paid enough to cover my uni debts, but i dont want to be out of a job any longer. i also dont want to take a job and then quit about a month in because ive got a better job because it wont look good in my CV. im so confused what to do and what would be the best way around it all? please help :'( x

I have a job interview on Friday for a waitressing/barmaid job. I just turned 18 years old and left school about a month ago. On Friday i sent out 5 CVs and got my first response today from the hotel/restaurant which i want to work at the most (lucky eh?). Anyway they asked me to come in for a 'chat' about the job. They made it sound quite informal. First of all i was wondering what would be best to wear. It sounded as though it would be quite informal just from the way the guy was talking...that makes me think wear normal cloths. But then again it is an interview(kind of) so they will be judging me...this makes me think i should dress a little more formal. What would be appropriate for a 4-star hotel waitress interview? We had an 'interview skills' class at school and although i've forgotten alot, i do remember that it's important to ask at least one question at the end. I don't necessarily have anything to ask though...should i maybe ask something about the larger events they hold such as christmas parties? Has anyone got any tips on preparing for the interview? I've looked at their website and over the next few days i intend to keep researching it. Although i'm not 100?ure what i'm looking for.. I'm just scared becauseue i have no experience...don't exactly feel worthy for the role. Would be great if i got it though! Thanks for any advice... Why do i need to go back to school?? I can't because i'm too old and i've finished school. I'm taking a year out then going onto university to study environmental geoscience...is that what you mean by school?

Never done waitressing at all. Except maybe for a few days I served drinks at football games. This weekend I will be the ONLY waitress at the lounge serving a lot of tables. Yea so you can imagine the pressure lol. Help? What should I be prepared for? If I don't get it right, then I will not work there. If I do then I will start next week asap. I just don't know what to expect. What if I don't memorize orders and mess up and spill drinks and stuff? Help

I have a job interview at a very small casual locally owned cafe on Monday. My Grandparents used to own the restaurant, and now they rent it out. Anyway, I have never had any job experience, and I'm nervous about this interview. I think I'm going to wear a knee length denim skirt, but what top? And what are good answers to common questions? Please help me. And also, I'm 18. I went in a few days ago after seeing a "Help Wanted" sign, and said that I was wondering about the waitressing job.(They called me today to set up my interview) They gave me a VERY basic application, that asked my name, address, phone number, 2 references, and job experience.

I filled out an application to Friendly's as a waitress and a week later, they called me and said I got an interview! :) I'm really happy and I know it may not sound big, but I really need this job and I've never been on a job interview before. So what should I wear and what kind of questions are they going to ask me? Also, will my height(5 foot and a half) be a problem? I dont think it should, but you never know. Thanks! and any advice would be awesome!

My interview is on monday and I'm very nervous. I have no previous experience (as stated in the application form) I know most of my highschool class worked there so it was easy to get a job I assume. I'm a college student now. So what kinds of questions will I expect? I tried searching online but really weird stuff came up and usually not relating to a job as a waiter. How long will it last? How much does it matter how long I can work there? (I'm sure they can assume I wont be working as soon as college starts up again but will they mind even shorter working period?) How would I answer questions like: What do you do if a customer becomes rude or spoiled? Oh and will there be training of some sort? Should I practice like balancing things and carrying plates from the kitchen? Also I stated that I wouldn't mind doing any job (I need the money) but I do prefer being a waitress over working in the kitchen in this heat and whatnot. How do I go about hinting and making it happen? If they see I'm weak and don't care what position I get they might just give it to me and I'm not the type to argue or complain. I just take whatever and I want to be able to be like those strong and confident people that just say I want that and get it. When they see how shy I am and introverted they would probably rather have me in the kitchen I'm sure. I don't want that. Thanks for any info.

I have an interview at The Palms pool in Vegas for cocktail waitressing next week. Here is my question... I have never cocktail waitressed before (or waitressed), I got this interview through a friend. I am 26, BS degree, with 2 years as a tanning salon owner and 2 years in software sales/consulting. This really concerns me since I have no experience at all and would like ideas on how to present myself in the best manner to get the job and beat out the competition. (whom I assume to have much more experience than I). Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, what would I wear to this type of interview? I am coming from a business professional type of environment and can't imagine what I would wear to an interview like this. Any ideas anyone has would be much appreciated! Cheers!
