I'm prior enlisted and about to go to MEPS on Monday and wanted to know beforehand what the Army would throw at me as far as jobs that they would offer. I scored 90 on my asvab and line scores across the board are all pretty high. I also have a bachelor's degree though I don't want to become an officer just yet.

I sent in a application at careerbuilder.com and I got 2 job offers: from a International Remote Program to be a account coordinator (Kansainvalisista OY), and International Payment Facilitator (Giant Group) to be a payment processing agent. Both of these jobs require me to collect payments, send checks, and do everything through mail and online. Is this really a legit job, or a way to harrass me, and lie to me about having a job and trying to sell stuff?

I feel extremely frustrated over a project that my boss has given me. I can’t say much, except that it is a CTM database/system, for the education industry. I have no experience or background in IT or database area, I studied logistics. My boss asked me to undertake the project as project coordinator and I undertook it on, since who would say “no” to the boss. As the time goes on, the project ran into many difficulties. One of the main issues was the vendor and data migration. There was very poor collection of requirements by the vendor and the vendor didn’t really bother to understand the business processes and I had to go through a lot of trouble over the data migration. The vendor is a small SME that sells commercial-off-the shelf system but I sometimes wonder is they know what they are doing. This project was supposed to last from Jan last year to end of last year. As of now, the system has not gone “live” and there are still a whole lot of programming errors. In particular, it is the accounting and finance modules, where I faced a lot of problems. I did not study accountancy and finance and have absolutely no knowledge on this field. The accounting and finance department just simply refuses to give any advice and feedback on how they want the modules to suit their processes. I have explained to my boss that I should not be in the position of designing the accounting and finance modules. I have cc my boss in all email correspondences and given her all the feedback, both verbally and written that the vendor is doing a very poor job. My boss just seems to side with the vendor and assured me that it is not my fault and certain parts of the project but now, again, she is asking me for a status feedback, as if I can solved all the problems, when I sometimes am simply not receiving political and logistical support . I feel very upset and am wondering what to do. I really feel like giving up. Should I just ignore my boss? There is nobody higher than my boss that I can go to. I have given all the feedback I can give and talked to the vendor both nicely and firmly, nothing works. There is no one in the company whom can help me. There are only 15 people in the company.

I started as an assistant for projects but within a month I have become a Project Coordinator (Telecommunications) and in few months I will be given more responsibilities in project management, finances ( receivables and payable) and more. I will finish my college degree in accounting and was invited to the masters in accounting program. If I do not attend I plan an pursing an MBA in Information Systems. I interviewed for a small CPA firm 3 months ago and now they want to hire part time as known when I have applied to it. My question should I accept the CPA firm offer or stay at my current job?

I'm currently an undergraduate student majoring in Bus. Admin. - Accounting (This is done). I have added another major Accounting Information Systems (2 more classes left if I choose to continue). I have been invited to do a masters in accounting and I have accepted. However, I have not been able to land anything in accounting for some reason. I was able to get hired as a Project Coordinator, which might change to a different position not sure yet. The company I just started working for does mostly telecommunication and technology contracting jobs with companies such as Sonny Ericsson and T-Mobile, etc.. I am planning on getting my CPA, Project Management, CISA, etc...and my ultimate goal is to become a Business Analysts. Should complete my masters in accounting ( I have taken 3 500 level electives) and what advice do you guys have for me. And I am still in college. Thank you.
