Accounts Payable Analyst Job Questions & Answers

I have had 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable but I desperately want to move into actual finance jobs like management accounting/controlling/financial analyst but can't seem to land a job in that area even junior or entry level. I took a year off to get my MSc in Finance which I have, with good grades, but had to take a new Payables job because I didn't find anything else. Any advice? I hate being in Payables!...

I am a senior accounting major and will receive my bachelors degree in the summer if i can take a class. i have very little work experience, almost an embarrassing amount in my opinion. i did some volunteer work with the mentally ill back in 06' and worked as a cashier for a barbershop that my brother owns for around 18 months, just left that in December (am i even allowed to put this on my resume since i'm not technically supposed to put family as references which i would have to since he was my boss?). i have had ZERO luck in finding an internship in my field of study and am getting very frustrated to be honest. i want to work for just about anyone and anywhere as long as there's a career path there. i wanted to know all the fields that i could apply for. for example; i could apply for accounting industry, finance, assurance, maybe marketing, i think financial adviser. let me know if there are any more fields that would take someone with my degree. i don't care if its an unpaid or paid internship, if its an entry level job where they train me, i really just want to start working and put something of actual value and substance on my resume. i live in Queens, NY by the way and i'm 21 years old. so again, if anyone knows of a field that i don't know about.. please let me know and maybe you know a specific company that has a office in new york. Also, if you could tell me a good site for finding jobs, i already checked monster, jobfox, and craigslist. So yea, if you have any relevant information please send it my way. Any and all help is appreciated. Any advice would also be appreciated. Also, if i can't find anything in the very near future, a week or two, do you think i should just apply at a restaurant as a busboy or something just so i can have a job. Thanks in advance.

I'm a junior in college working on accounting with Information Systems minor. Current plan right now is get my ungraduate, and also get my graduate degree in Masters of Science in Accounting with Tax concentration. I expect to ace CPA in one sitting. 90?f graduates from my school do. But there doesn't seem to be much money for a typical accounting career. Would i be able to enter the stated (or any other "big money") job markets with my degree?
