 | I am a junior in highschool and am very interested in the actuary profession. Assuming I am dead set on becoming an actuary, how many years of college would it generally require if i worked hard?

 | I am not trying to be lazy but after driving for 200 hours, I find myself a dangerous driver. I can usually focus on one situation, but in driving two to three happen at the same time. Also the more I talk to people, I tend to forget more things. I do have a journal but I need to find a lifetime job where I interact less with people but something that has prestige. I am a cashier for five years and my verdict is that I really perform better when I am alone.

 | I am on track to graduate university this year with a BSc with honours in economics. I wasn't able to take a probability theory course that would have been beneficial for the first actuarial exam, and I'm wondering if I should enroll in an actuarial science program or just try to study for the exams on my own. I know economics is somewhat related but I don't feel like I'm all that prepared for the exams. Also, I don't know how learning on my own will go. Any actuaries have any advice?

 | I am graduating in 2 weeks with a BA in Economics but the only help my school gives me is to check USAJobs.gov
I have a minor in Marketing and a Associates Degree in Web Design along with the BA in Econ. I am just looking for ideas of what to look for. I am trying to find an entry level job to work up towards a career with the government but don't know steps to get there. Thanks!

 | Is it possible to self study for the exams and become an actuary with no degree? I will however have some college ... but it is just an associates in liberal arts business degree.
I really do not want to spend the hefty price tag for a degree if I can just self study. What would you recommend though?

 | Right now I am a second year computer science (BA) student at hunter college. I've followed the curriculum as it was planned out but am now looking for my possible branches for me to go into.
I want to know if this is possible and has been done? Also as a second year student what should be my next course of action into becoming an actuary? Where should I look for internships? and what classes should I take more of?
Anyone with advice or insight, please comment. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

 | I have an associates in Business Administrations and soon I want to go for a bachelors. What would be my field of study here? I was looking this on wikipedia and thought it would be perfect for me since Statistics and finance are my two biggest strengths. It just really did not say what you should study though.... Statistics? Finance?

 | ASA - Associate of the Society of Actuaries
I've heard opinions that it might make you unemployable, even with internship experience, but several people have said that it doesn't. Thoughts?
