 | Do accountants do basically what a book keeper in business has always done? or when, how branched off this necessary job to the role of an "Accountant"?
why accountants make so much money and need so much education?
how compare their incomes to others? and are they often making more money than advertisers, etc? why , how again?
thanks fo ryour answers!

Are there any other options for me? Does anyone have experience in this? I would like to make at least 40k when I graduate

 | I usually work in offices in administrative type of roles. I quit my job because I couldn't stand it anymore. I would love to work in a salon or something similar just to be around people who are artistic or creative. I would be a receptionist, appt keeper, book keeper, heck even shampoo girl or hair sweeper upper. When I look in the classifieds, there are no job listings. Is there a special place to find these types of jobs?

 | I live in ontario and im just finishing my grade 11 accounting course., I talked to my teacher and asked her if I would be able to get a job as a book keeper over the summer and she said I would without problem. But what I'm wondering, is how much money they make on average per hour, or per year. Seeing as I'm only going into grade 12 accounting next year, I won't be able to get a full time job, so I'm really just looking at a summer job. Thanks!

 | Sometimes I have some problems with my self esteem and it affects my job. How can I find employment opportunities, that will allow for my disabilities. Also, a friend of mine who offered me a job, has recently told his book keeper that they would have to start taking taxes out on me, is that good or bad?
It made me nervous, since she caught me unprepared, is this normal.

 | Hello, I need some recommendations for some good work from home businesses that are not a waste of time or a hoax? Do you have any suggestions? Or Websites to refer to? I work in the finance department at my job and someone told me that there are companies that hire book keepers to work from home? Any like these?

 | The job in question sounds similar to a scam reported on TV not to long ago. The following is part of the e-mail:
HELLO ,
Thankyou for your response and i would like to know if you really like to work from home,
---------- needs a book-keeper in the states, so i want to know if you will
like to work online from home, getting paid weekly without leaving or
it affecting your present job?
I am presently running a textile and fabrics firm i inherited from my late father and we need someone to work for the company as a representative/book keeper in the states
My company produces various clothing materials, expensive and high quality batiks, assorted fabrics and traditional costumes which we have clients we supply weekly in the states.
My clients make payments for our supplies every week in form of money orders which are not readily cashable outside the US {JUST BECAUSE THIS US MONEY ORDERS CAN ONLY BE CASHED WITHIN THE US} so we need someone in the states you can call

 | I work for my cousin and receive paychecks from him. I don't get any deductions on my paycheck and i have to file my own taxes come tax time. He files his own taxes as well. His book keeper sends me a w-2 showing how much i made and i go to my tax person and file a 10-99 and pay whatever i owe. Now since I fill up the car am i entitled to have tax deductions for gas with receipts? and i was also wondering can i have tax deductions for medical payments such as going to the dentist? I've paid a good amount this year for the dentist. I don't have any kind of health insurance or health coverage. How about a tax break since i go to college? Thanx for all the help.

 | I've been told flat out, " we only hire women" on more than one occasion. So how is this equal opportunity? Why are the tables tilted so that a man can't get a fair shake in the role of a secretary, receptionist, or book keeper? This is rather silly, as many men can certainly handle the job, and perform fine, but it is very rare that you see a guy at the desk when you go to the doctor, dentist, optometrist. How is that fair? I get that these positions come with a modest salary, and we're not shooting for the stars here, but a man with qualifications would more than likely be passed up for any modestly cute woman with no qualifications at all. For that matter, how can Hooters get away with only hiring women as servers? -Not that I really want a dude as my server at that restaurant, but this double standard keeps many a man from being able to find work. Yes, the average corporate woman makes less than a man, but let's face it, the majority of guys and gals aren't corporate tycoons. Seems to me just another damned double-standard.
