 | Right now I am a junior majoring in accounting. I want to try and find a small bookkeeping job to put as experience on my resume when I finish school. I don't have any prior job experience in anything because I have been trying to focus solely on my schoolwork. Can anyone tell me if they have gotten or knows someone who has gotten a bookkeeping job under these types of circumstances?
P.S.: If you cannot truly answer my questions PLEASE DO NOT respond. Thanks!

 | How do I know if I'm ready to take on a bookkeeping job? I've already taken the required courses for a bookkeeping job and I get my certificate issue to me in June. The only problem is, I still feel I might not know enough to take on a bookkeeping position. The last thing I want to do is go into a job looking like an idiot. I want to somehow get some work experience other than the coursework I've done in college. Is there some tests I can take to make sure I know what i'm doing? I also know how to use quickbooks pretty well. Do they normally train you first or do they just throw you in to figure things out for yourself? Please help, thanks.

 | I want to get experience bookkeeping but the problem is the morning i want to start a business out and the afternoon I want to get a part time bookkeping job. By looking for a bookkeeping job that is not full time would it be significantly harder to get a job that way or is getting a full or part time bookkeeping job about the same difference. I just don't want to make it hard or nearly impossible to get a part time job in something if there are almost none out there or is it different then what i am thinking? thank you.

 | So in May if hopefully everything goes well I'll be graduating community college with an associates degree in accounting, with a 3.6-3.7-3.8 gpa roughly depending. I know I cannot be a CPA, and I know I won't get paid as much as somebody with a bachelors degree, but I cannot afford to continue school, I refuse to take out loans and give interest back to the government, and I'm just getting plain tired of school. Will it be possible for me to find an AP or AR clerk, or bookkeeping job to gain experience and finally have a job?? Thanks in advance everybody =]
or a payroll job, which is what I believe I am leaning towards.

 | I'm a senior majoring in Finance, but won't be done until the end of the year. I want to look for a part time job until I'm all done, but I'm not sure what kind of job I should look for.
I've applied for some bookkeeping jobs but I want to know if there's anything else out there that would be more suitable for a student majoring in Finance?
Please help! Thanks!
I'm not interested in any internships (can't find any that are close) and I really need to work to pay off some bills.

I want to work from home as a bookkeeper where I can do there books out of my house, and would be willing to certainly provide copies of the Quickbooks programs and reports daily or weekly. I just do not understand why ma and pop business owner are so scared to give the bookkeeping to someone outside their family basically. Aunt Bertha can cook the books as much as I would be able to.

 | I have been an office manager/bookkeeper for the past 20 years and am thinking about getting certified as a medical assistant or certified in Health Care administration. I am 50 years old, but have alot of energy. Due to a lay off I am finding it hard to find another bookkeeping job, so I thought getting a certificate as a MA or medical administration might be a good thing.
