Corporate Accountant Job Questions & Answers

Suppose I got hired for a corporate job (engineer, accountant, etc), and didn't want to be paid. Would I get in trouble if, on the first day of work in the HR office, I provided a phony SS number, bank account number, and mailing address? This is just so the money never gets routed to me, and I would not be taxed on money that I never had access to and never wanted or felt I deserved in the first place. How would I pay the taxes if I had no money to pay them with?

I want to work in a downtown corporate sky scraper. What jobs do most of those people hold? My ambition is to have that nice window office with my secretary. I'm not going to brag or anything. I know that I have the ability to become whatever I want. Currently I'm a mathematics and operations major--but I don't really want to work in a warehouse type of place forever. So I was curious what many of those workers jobs were that land them in the corporate headquarter with a nice window office! Thanks!

I am an accounting major and I am doing a project for school. I have to pick a corporation that I'm interested in working for. The trouble I am having is, the jobs I am interested in are for private companys. Does anyone know of a company that typically hires accountants with a bachelor's degree? A CPA job would probably be fine too, I'm not sure if I want to get my masters yet or not.

Im in Japan as an exchange student now. And Im debating comming back for college and living here. The only thing is that Im not that interested in being a teacher, and im not sure what other jobs are offered. I wanted to be a doctor, but that almost seems impossible in a different language... I was thinking of something that would be active, where i could always be busy without having to sit at a desk. Anyone know any good careers in Japan for foreigners?

Of all the people I know with corporate, white collar jobs, about 10 - 15?ctually enjoy it. The rest cannot stand it. And I'm talking about everyone from the entry level accountant just out of college to the COO of an F100 corporation. Do you find corporate life that dissatisfying? I literally cold not do it. I would off myself. I am self-employed. Did you also being ordered around all day? The office politics? The humiliation of "performance appraisals" and the like?

This is my last project for my business law course. I have questions below for anyone who is an accountant. I've already asked around where I live, but I want more information from others outside where I live. Please answer them honestly! I'd really appreciate it! What kind of accountant are you? Are there different types of accountants? What do you have to do on a typical day? How is your job related to the law? What are the educational requirements to become an accountant? Why did you become an accountant? How long have you been one? What do you enjoy about being an accountant? What's challenging about it? What advice would you give to someone who wanted to become an accountant?
