I am an Internal Audit professional over 2 yrs experience, and also hold a CPA certification. I'm looking to change from Internal Audit, and become a Financial Planner/adviser. I really enjoy giving financial advice to individuals, personal financial advice, tax planning advice, etc. How would i make this transition? What jobs should I be looking for to break into this field? Is a CFP necessary? FYI I have a bachelors in business admin and a masters in accounting.

I had applied for another position in a different department at my company. I passed the phone interview and was told I was the top canidate for the job. After the internal audit my current supervisor told the new department that they would require a 12 week transition period and since the training class for the new position started in 4 weeks (a timeframe that seems much more reasonable) I was eliminated for the position. Is this something that they can do? What is my recourse? The training for my current position is only 8 weeks and they do not need my spot filled before I was to leave.

I recently graduated from 4-year college with BA in Accounting. I have internship experience in internal auditing, some customer service and administrative experience. However, I cannot get the job because of lack of experience in Accounting. So, I was wondering if addiotnal licenses related to accounting or finance would help me get accounting or finance related jobs. What are those licenses? How can I obtain them and how much time will it take?

I'm 26 and thinking of applying for a job as a trainee accountant in the organisation I currently work in. The problem is I was never a huge maths talent and haven't done anything maths related apart from a finance exam when I was doing my internal audit qualification. Should I drop the idea of doing an accountancy qualification or go for it?
