Clerical Assistant Job Questions & Answers

I have 2 job interviews tomorrow and have small 4 gage ear plugs its noticeable but tasteful and I feel more comfortable with them. Should I wear them or change them for something more conservative? I feels its better to wear them now rather than the shock later. They are both office jobs, clerical assistant type of work. Bosses out there would you hire someone with them if they had no visible tattoos just the gages?

I have been applying for teachers assistant jobs on edjoin for a couple of years now and haven't received a call back at all. Not one! So recently I began also applying for clerical jobs on edjoin. I meet all the minimum qualifications for the jobs I apply for but I guess that isn't good enough. I do realize there is very stiff competition with people who have probably been doing those types of jobs for years. So I just wanted to ask: Who actually was able to get an interview and possibly even the job with only meeting minimum qualifications? Thanks in advance for all the questions!! :) Have a great day.

I'm desperately trying to get a job as a clerical assistant / administrative assistant / secretary / whatever. I had a job at the YMCA when I was 15 where I volunteered and got a good understanding of the office setting and clerical duties. But, 9 years later ... should I include this in my resume? Is it relevant or will employers laugh it off? I don't know what else to put, as I have no other experience other than that and since then I've been in the food industry / retail / customer service crap. Also, is using words like "EXCELLENT interpersonal communication skills" or "SUPERIOR verbal / written communication skills" pretentious?

I applied for a job at a hospital as sort of a clerical assistant. I really want this job, and I feel that I would be perfect for it, as well. I applied online. I am wondering if I should go up there in person and talk to someone about my application status just to help myself stand out. If so, how soon after I filled out the application should I do this. Or is this something that employers would frown upon, and I should just wait and hope they call me? Thank you for your help!

It appears that having a Master's in Education means nothing when trying to apply for entry level administrative assistant jobs. Am I going to have to take some office/clerical classes for this position just so I can have something on my resume that is applicable to the position?

I have a full time secretarial/personal assistant job that i loathe. I absolutely hate coming to work. My boss is a total b***h. I have applied for another really good job with the city and I'm waiting to hear back. The thing is they say the application and interviewing process takes 60 days. Frankly, I can't wait that long. should I grit my teeth and stay where I am, or find another job in the meantime and work there until I hear about the city job. I don't like going to a job for a few weeks and then leaving for another, but I'm at my wits end and I can't afford not to have a job at all.

I am applying for a post as a clerical assistant in a primary school. I've starting working on my Statement in Support on Application. I'd absolutely love to get this job but I'm afraid my statement is going to let me down. I don't have children and have never worked with them but I do babysit for my brother regularly - unfortunately he's not allowed to give me a reference. Can anybody give me any advice please?
