 | I know they may do these tests for people wanting to have a job as a nurse, tech or something else where you deal with people's health hands on, but I was wondering if they use these tests for people wanting to apply to administrative positions such as a human resources coordinator or an administrative assistant. Anybody who has a job in this field as an administrator, I would greatly appreciate your input.

I have an opportunity to further my education (I already have an AS) and get a certificate of completion. I want something that is very flexible to move between states (unlike something that requires a state certification). Which would be most useful in a small town?

| I am looking at going back to school for 2009. Would having an Associates degree in business administration and a certificate in human resource management be a good combo on a resume? Or would I be just wasting my time? Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated! Ps. I am wanting to work more as an administrative assistant but work myself up the ladder. I am excited at the thought of learning more of how a business runs and such. Thanks!

Jobs are scarce these days, but the only positions I have found are the director/asst director or generalist. Where does one start? I prefer to work for the govt as I work at the state level now. Not the best paying job, but the benefits are pretty good.

 | I have been working in retail since I was 15. I am now 26. I have had enough with it, so in May when I was laid off from my last job (our store went out of business) I got a job as an Administrative Assistant. I just got laid off again because we don't have any business and they are cutting way back. I have an Associates degree but it doesn't seem to help at all, and I have 12 more classes before I will have my bachelors in Human Resources Management. How can I break into the field of HR or something that can lead into it eventually even though I don't have much work experience in the field?

 | I'm currently working on a Business AA degree at my community college yet I'm not sure what job titles I will qualify for. Are there decent paying jobs that require a Business AA?
I'm also interested in an Administrative Assistant job and my school has a Administrative Assistant certificate program... however would I be better off just getting an Administrative Assistant degree?
I will probably go back to school to get a BA once I figure out what I truly want to do.

 | I work for a computer consulting firm as an Administrative Assistant including working Human Resources. Today I had ten people come in for job interviews in our office and only two of them were wearing what I would consider office appropriate clothing, not office casual but office appropriate. Three of them wore dirty tennis shoes, two of them wore tee-shirts, one with food stains on it and four of them wore jeans. Since I spoke to all of these people on the phone and told them that the dress code was office wear I'm wondering what the general public considers office appropriate attire for an interview

| I am looking to get into the world of Human Resources starting off as maybe a HR Assistant/Administrator. Now what I would like to know is if it is better to study for a university degree in Business and focus more on the HR aspect or do I apply directly to CIPD and get a Certificate in Human Resources Practise?
