You know some of us been shy all our lives and don't talk much, so our language skills are bad even if we are adults. The only thing i find in newspapers, etc .. are RECEPTIONIST jobs, but they wouldn't like a person like me who is going to mess up all the time and doesn't have much personality. Been to school and everything , i have skills.. but all the jobs seem to be for talkative people only. even a basic office assistant job. In fact i had a few Temp. office assistant jobs before and they hated me and then got rid of me because i didnd't fit in with all the other non stop talkers.

I have an interview next week for a part-time office assistant job in a small office. The positions I used to interview for required a college education, and were in a more upscale city environment, but I'm no longer going for that type of job. I want to look professional for this interview, without looking overdressed (I want to downplay my credentials). Would it be ok to wear a pair of black khaki pants with a pair of black shoes that have just a portion of my toes out?

What should I put in my resume for an on-campus job (office assistant, library jobs, bookstore, etc.)? Usually they never ask this until this year. I already put my objective, my education, my desktop skills, my projects, and other similar job experiences, but the resume still only 3/4 page. Any suggestions to make my resume full and outshine others? :)

We have had a downward economy since 1996-1997, and many people have lost their jobs. Many of these people had very good jobs and could support their families. Due to whatever circumstances many have not regained those jobs back and have had to seek out whatever they could find and do (e.g., taking a sales job, taking a phone solicitor job, taking a part-time office assistant job) that does not pay any where near what they were making before. These people are still not back to where they should be, and time is passing. They are getting older and many of these people were the middle and older workers when they lost their jobs. I would like some comments on those that have not found a good paying job still and those that have. I want to read about their stories and their difficulties during their searches and successes, if any and if not any. I would like to know what job they lost, their age, gender, city/state, family responsiblities, and anything else they would like to share.

I , Mahesh Prasad belongs to the General Merit category from Puttur of Dakshina Kannada District, Karnataka. I have Office Assistant job in an Engineering college at Puttur. I am writing this letter for myself and on behalf of several my friends who are wishing to work in the government departments. But we have already attained the age of 35 and have no provisions to apply for a government job thereafter. This is real headache for us. Can we put an appeal to high court for a change in the eligibility criteria as upper age limit is 40 for GM, 43 for OBC and 45 for SC/ST instead of 35 for GM, 38 for OBC and 40 for SC/ST for applying govt. jobs. Please provide information in this regard.

No, not so I can party through the weekend, but because I have class all day Saturdays. I'm in my second year of college and naturally, I'm broke so I need a job. I know city employees only work during the work week, but L.A. is currently in debt and not hiring. I'd prefer receptionist/ office assistant type jobs but I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks.

I have very little experience for an office assistant job. I feel I'm not going anywhere. I only take one class in college and I feel I need to get out the house more and get a job. I have job experience and I tried employment agencies but no luck, any help?
