Not jobs that have enough workers, not jobs that can be replaced by automation or outsourcing. Not jobs that are deadly (e.g. radiation). Thanks.

I am writing an English 200 paper for my university on automation, or the process of machinery replacing human labor, and its negative effect on the American job market. If you or someone you know believe they have lost their job to automation, whether its as simple as a grocery store clerk being replaced by a self-checkout, or as large as an auto worker being replaced by an assembly robot, please tell me your story and your feelings towards the issue. Thank you.

I love astronomy and the stars, I am out at my telescope every night always reading books about it. I want to be an astronaut but I understand that very few are selected each year and they only make 100k a year for risking their lives. Astronomers require a lot of education and it is even harder to become an astronomer rather than a astronaut. I am willing to do any education i need to be in this field. What other jobs are there that pay over 100k in this field?

I applied for a job with the census bureau for Office Automation Clerk. They want me to take the same test as the field enumerators, which is fine, since it's not that difficult. I did a practice exam and got 26 out of 28 correct with some minutes to spare and the one I got wrong were because I wasn't paying enough attention. ANYWAYS, The woman on the phone made it seem that the interviews would take place very soon afterward, but now I'm not sure if she meant directly after, or within the next day, or even a few hours after. I really don't want to show up in my full skirt suit if it's just the testing. I was thinking: brown slacks, white button-up shirt, black vest, black low heels. Do you think that will be enough? Has anyone else been through the process of testing for the Office Automation Clerk position? Thanks in advance!

I'm a college student and currently working part time at a restaurant. I've always wanted to work at the post office. I was thinking along the lines of some sort of part time work there while I finish school because it's probably impossible to get on there full time. I'm not getting my hopes up because I realize it's very hard to get hired at the post office but I'm a military veteran so I thought that would give me a chance. Do any of you have any knowledge/experience about employment at the post office?

But from my research, most everything turns up being an astronomer. I find it interesting but there are so few available jobs and it said that most astronomers end up teaching, which I would not like. I don't really have just one thing I'm interested in, but I love learning about what makes the universe work and what we've found out there on TV shows like The Universe. Do you have any advice on career opportunities? P.S. I am a stout Christian but have heard that it could cost me job opportunities in the space field. I waas just wondering if it would cause if it would I'll just go find another field to get into.
