 | Under the Byrd rule, reconciliation cannot create budget deficits more than ten years into the future. Further, there is precedent, from Senator Byrd himself, that reconciliation is inappropriate for health care legislation.
So why is it suddenly some sort of devious Republican ploy?
ED - excellent point. That is precisely why the Bush tax cuts have an expiration of no more than ten years after their passage. Can you imagine the havoc of having a health care system with a ticking time clock?

 | I live my wife. We have 2 kids under 11. She wants a divorce and refuses couples therapy. We were arguing a year ago, but very little these days. She says she no longer loves me or finds me attractive. I dropped 43,pounds. We signed divorce papers last week.
What is the best way of keeping the door open for the reconciliation I hope for for our family?
She had an emotional affair a year ago. Nobody has an alcohol/drug problem. Nobody is abusing anybody. I feel like when she had the emotional affair, it turned her against me. I can do no right in her mind.

 | CATHOLICS - In this instance, a Catholic left the Catholic Church and converted to Lutheran. They now want to return to the Catholic Church and become a Catholic again.
Would this person have to be reconfirmed as a Catholic again, or would the Sacrament of Reconciliation do the job?

 | I mean, I think the dems should shove reconciliation right down the pubs throats as the pubs shoved the 500 billion pharma giveaway down the throats of the dems.
Public option
Medicaire at 55 option
Tort reform
Banking Regulations
Immigration amnesty
Just get it done, while you can, is that not how the pubs rule?

 | This is my last project for my business law course. I have questions below for anyone who is an accountant. I've already asked around where I live, but I want more information from others outside where I live. Please answer them honestly! I'd really appreciate it!
What kind of accountant are you?
Are there different types of accountants?
What do you have to do on a typical day?
How is your job related to the law?
What are the educational requirements to become an accountant?
Why did you become an accountant?
How long have you been one?
What do you enjoy about being an accountant?
What's challenging about it?
What advice would you give to someone who wanted to become an accountant?

 | My husband is getting ready to switch jobs, and we are trying to figure out insurance for my three kids until the benefits from the new insurance kick in (90 days).
We can't ask his HR department because he is still in the interview process and hasn't recieved the job offer yet so we don't want them to know he is looking.
I'm looking into just having them insured with a temporary policy from a private insurer like Anthem, but we want to look into all of our options before we choose one. If you have any suggestions please feel free to share them!
Thank You!

 | I have appreciated company stock that I have held over one year. I purchased it with the intention of using it for my childrens (age15 and 16) college education. I would like to gift it to them, then they could sell it. Since capital gains tax goes to 0?n 2008 for low income people, and at best they will have part time jobs, I could save the capital gains tax on the gain, allowing them more for college. This will lower their chance of grant money, but I think we make too much anyway (combined $130,000).
Could I do this to avoid paying capital gains? The stock is in my name, can my wife and I each gift $12,500 per year (or do I need to transfer some to her first)? Would she have to wait to gift it? Do the kids need to hold it an additional year to get long term capital gains?

 | We have huge levels of poverty and the kids go hungry and not enough clothing. Their parents' jobs have been given away by Washington. But to train them in the running of Motels and Gas/Service Stations is given to the Indians ( India) with enough money to even buy the businesses.
The illegals are draining our resources for enabling and helping Americans.
I would just like to know why the ones that have paid into the system can't get help when we need it????

 | Eugene de kok was the head of the Vlakplaaz ( The south african secret police force during the Apartheid time) . When de kok was made to stand before the truth and reconciliation commission he openly explained how he tortured black people by inserting metal wire through their a**s , cutting off their genitals , burning them with cigarette butts and then blowing their heads in to pieces with a revolver.
How can some people be so proud of the evil they inflicted on others?
I can never understand. Can you?

 | I am thinking of starting up a bookkeeping service from my home. I would do payroll, all the a/p, a/r, ledgering, financial statements, bank reconciliation, even organize everything properly for tax season.
I am curious about what you pay(approximately)for bookkeeping services. Also a general idea of the size of your business and what services your bookkeeper performs for you.

 | With the Australian parliment apologising for past injustices towards the indigeonous population today, what do you think is the next steps in bridging the gap between white and black in this country should be?
Im looking for practical, tangible solutions to the problem (such as policies the government could enact.) Not just rhetorical answers like: "They should all get jobs" or something equally as inane.
Cheers!

 | I have been with my employers for 4 months. I am a secretary to 3 managers. I have no contract of employment, in fact not even a written job offer. I work 3 hours a day, which is all I want to work. Lately my managers have been giving me more work than I can handle in 3 hours a day. I have been getting behind which is stressing me. Yesterday I spoke with 2 of my managers and asked if they could ease up on me a bit while I catch up with the backlog. They said that they have a business need for me to do the work I am given and if I can't manage it in my 3 hours then they are happy for me to do extra hours at the same rate of pay. I don't want to work extra hours, nor do I want to leave. Any ideas how I can resolve this please?

 | I don't have much academic background on accounting but I have just switched to the accounting department from hr/admin because the head of the accounting department left and is in need of human resources until they hire a new manager.
I have just learned how to reconcile cash and credit card deposits with the bank statement. But I wonder if it's necessary to reconcile cash deposits because I know another colleague is already checking cash eposits of store branches everyday by logging into the company's bank account (using a view only account) and checking if the numbers are equivalent to yesterday's cash income of different branches.
If there are any issues she would call the branch manager to see if there's anything wrong and readjust the next day. So basically if she does her job the cash deposits should be equivalent to the bank statement's cash deposit records.
My colleague that's checking every day's cash deposits is also wondering if her work task is necessary or not. The previous accounting manager is gone so we can't get an answer. Both of us don't have much accounting knowledge so we can't tell.
Your help would be much appreciated!

 | With women, if a man makes less than them, he's not worthy. They throw that in his face any chance they get and they never let him forget it. They feel he's a burden yet a woman who 'needs' a provider to support her lazy a$$ is just a 'good' woman who'd make a great mother.
Look at the flip side. If the man makes more than she does, especially if it's way more, she thinks she should make as much decisions. What these women don't understand is they have no right to make any decision since that's EXACTLY what the man worked for. He has the money so HE should make all the decisions he wants. They have this 'oh so you own me now?' mentality and some of them even sabotage relationships like this.
What's your reconciliation?
