Senior Secretary Job Questions & Answers

I'm a medical secretary, but have been put on reception? I temp as a senior medical secretary and was concerned that today, my first day in my booking, I'm on reception! I hate reception and wasn't booked for this. Shall I just keep quiet and be grateful I have a job or tell the agency? I'm only here this week and still get the same hourly rate as a secretary.

What is the appropriate thing I should answer? What do they like to hear and what not? Is there anything I can do to increase my chances, or is it ultimately up to them in the end? I am applying for a job at the Michael Page International as a Senior Secretary. There are only 2 positions left and so i really want to have that job! It's a one chance of a lifetime. Any reply is appreciated. Many thanks.

Hello. My Name is Corey and I am running for Senior Class Secretary at my school. For my campaign, one of the idesas im tossing around is a NASCAR theme. I was wondering if anyone had a good slogan i could use to associate with it, such as "He'll RACE to get the job done" or "He always finishes first" or something like that. Any Ideas?

What are the differences/similarities of the jobs: paralegal, legal secretary, and legal assistant?
2 answers - Asked By: Jaster Rogue - 1/30/2009
When looking at legal job postings, I see a lot of posts for paralegals. Some of the salaries are more than associate attorneys I know are making. Some are even more than senior lawyers I know make at small law firms, and definitely more than a lot of solo attorney I know. Why is this? Are paralegals becoming more valuable than attorneys to some companies? Do you think this profession will continue to grow and evolve? Will they become more valuable and make more money? Also I am talking "real" paralegal positions here, not legal assistant jobs or legal secretaries.

I would like to know what type of skills and experience lawyers look for in legal secretaries. Also, how do they advertise for these jobs? Or do they depend on legal secretaries to approach their firms? I don't have any relevant experience, but I'm trying to break into this field. Any information will be a big help. Thanks!

I'm a senior in high school and want to go to college to become a lawyer. I think being a secretary in a lawyers office could help me learn somethings. As well as be a good job while I'm in school. Could I do it with just a GED (That's what my school gives since it's a career center for 11th and 12th graders). Thanks.

I'll be going to college pretty soon and my ideal future goal is to become a magazine editor. I thought about majoring in journalism but decided to do something else. I'm thinking about PR... but what exactly is it and what courses do I take in college and what should I major in? Will I be able to get a good job in PR? Is there any way to tie in fashion or magazine work into it? Thanks a lot.

This is happening all over the country. Where are these people supposed to go to get help? Yes, I have already heard some suggestions. For instance, the churches, and the Salvation Army. But their resources are also limited!! Places like these, could provide a hot meal and clothing, but I am quite sure they can't pay for the peoples rent, and utilities! Can these people apply for Welfare and food stamps now, just to be able to keep a roof over their heads and be able to feed their families? Aren't these people just as eligible to receive Government aid as the people who ARE on Welfare and never actually worked a day in their lives? The monthly Index of the newly unemployed seems to be holding just a little under 10? Has the Government created an Index for those who have run out of benefits altogether, and any hope of finding work anytime soon? The Government says there ARE jobs available such as these census takers, which of course, are temporary. So THEY are NOT a permanent solution to the problem. Then the Gov, talks about these great paying Government jobs! OK! Who wouldn't like to snag one of those! BUT! WHERE are they? and how do you go about applying for one!?? Does a person have to KNOW someone in the Government to be privy to that information, or what??? The thing is, where would these jobs BE located? We all don't live in DC!! Oh! and last but NOT least, what qualifications must a person have in order to be considered for the positions? CarolO - I checked out that site you kindly gave me!! WOW!! The job postings!! You are right,, even a painter would have to hold a master's degree to use a paint brush and a minor in basket weaving! What is the Gov. aiming for? Hiring the cream of the crop, and the rest of us just fade off into the sunset, never to be seen again!! I took the 62 option years ago, and I am glad I did. I feel sorry for those who still have ten years or more, before they can claim the money they worked for so hard, and might very well find out the pot is empty. God Bless and Good luck.

I'm going for student counsel cause it's my senior year in high school and I am pretty fit for the job, I'm obsessively organized, reliable, punctual, good at note taking etc etc I have a good slogan and I know all I have to do is expand on what I just described, but I feel like if I bore the audience my chance decreases. SO anyway I could make it funny?

Hello! I graduated in Dec. '05 with a BS degree in Communications with an emphasis in broadcast journalism. I don't want to go into a broadcasting job, but I got so far along in my degree I just finished it to have it. I'm now considering the idea of going back to school and getting a master's in PR to make myself marketable in the corporate world. My problems with PR are that I have never liked the idea of manipulating the public. PR always appeared to be a rather sleazey idea (no offense intended) I think that if I worked for a non-profit, a school system or a hospital, it would be easier to deal with and more fullfilling to me. Does anybody here presently or formerly work in Public Relations? What is a typical day like? Do you like it/hate it and why? If you left, why did you leave and what are you doing now? Sorry for the loaded question. Do you look at PR in a negative light as a profession?
