Advertising Consultant Job Questions & Answers

I'm an absoolute history buff, especially British history. Love it! I want a career with history, but I don't know what to do. I've looked at some of the websites that give lists of possible careers, and they all say "teacher, lawyer, advertising consultant, marketing research specialist...." I don't want any of those jobs, I want a career where I actually have to use my knowledge of history in everyday work and am using it hands-on. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks in advance.

If a person is creative in business planning & strategy what is the ideal job for them. Not looking for career in advertising or graphic designing. More like a creative consultant? Are there jobs available for such people? Is there a particular form of education that can be recommended before pursuing such a career?

I've seen that Clinique are advertising for consultants, and that the initial stage is a 10 min telephone interview, on the background of the company and products. Does anyone know if you need to have actual cosmetic experience? And also what kind of questions they ask at this stage?

I have seen jobs advertised for IT consultants in Switzerland. I have precisely the right skillset but do NOT have a degree. Will this prevent me from gaining a working visa. I am a UK citizen.

I have a friend who has a 6 month old baby. She is employed by the NHS as a consultant. She is contracted to work 16 hours a week. The NHS contract has expired and we believe they are legally required to keep her on and if they advertise the job again it is illegal? If they want someone to work more hours they cannot make my friend reduntant because they agreed to give my friend the job in the first place, They would have to get someone to job share. What legal rights does my friend have? Can they make her redundant and say they want someone full time only!?? I doubt thats allowed under British employment law. HELP! By the way:::We are in the UK. So UK law applies.

I was convicted of several felonies a few years ago over a fairly petty physical altercation. This was the absolute first and last time anything like this has/ will happen in my life. I use to hold an IT position at an old company for over seven years, but now I am having a very difficult time getting a job back within a worthwhile comapny. All that I can seem too find are low paying jobs or jobs within the construction industry, which I am not made out for. I have quite a bit of college education along with several prestigous certifications. I am a very hard worker with much to give. I am very upset with this burden, even though I brought it on to myself. Thank you for any infrmation or support. Please help me find some optimism through all this!

I am a new Account Executive for an up and coming television station. I am looking for somebody, preferrably somebody who is successful in advertising, (say a successful ad agent) or someone of the sort to e-mail back and forth with. I am starting to feel a little lost and would like and outside perspective on my work so far. Where can I find somebody who is willing to share their expertise?

Anyone have any ideas on how to start a business doing this? This would involve helping people with resumes, cover letters and searching for jobs. I would charge a small fee for this. But any suggestions on where to start with this or what steps I should take?
