Advertising Copy Manager Job Questions & Answers

I'm leaning towards a job in advertising, preferably on the more 'creative' part of the job (i.e. copy writer, advertising manager). What I would like to know is whether advertisement companies which would hire me would rather a degree in communications or journalism. Please be specific and add sources. Thank you!

I just need tips on what I can do to help out my boss which is the Property Manager. Make her job easier what might I take over and help her without asking her. I would really like to impress her a little more. Show her that Im serious about my job status. I answer phones, take notes, make copys, type labels, filing, orgainze, and already show aparments. Is there anything you might think of that is creative and intavative, also helpful that might help her out.

A job or position may not be advertised. So, if you are sending out a resume & cover letter cold to select companies, how effective is this tactic? Addressing it to: Human Resources Manager.

I graduated with a different degree than the career I'm pursuing. I've gone through several interviews with agencies but cannot seem to get a the full-time offer. I've gotten freelancing opportunities but I really want to be a in-house Graphic Designer for an agency because I prefer job security.

I'm doing a project and I have to explain in detail what is advertising? What are various jobs in this industry? Describe the duties and responsibilities of a few jobs that deal with advertising? Things like that. I'm not familiar with Public Relations so if it has has anything to do with it I'll need explanation. I'd really like to go into something that has to do with sports or to be a Bone Specialist, so if there are any jobs with advertising in either of those fields please let me know. Thanks.

I want to go into print journalism, but as I look at colleges, I've noticed that some schools have a Communications program instead of Journalism, and some have both. What are the differences? Which program would I be better off looking into so far as getting jobs after college? Can you reccommend a school?

I'm asking because I want to work at Home Depot, but the website doesn't show jobs that are available, it just lists all possible jobs for that store. I guess what you're supposed to do is just apply for them and then keep your fingers crossed that they really need that job. It's frustrating! Anyway, back to my question... Do you think it's weird, or tactless, just to ask the manager if there are any open positions?

I'm a Canadian and I want to move to Istanbul for awhile. How easy would it be for me to find a job. I have heard there are a lot of language schools that hire native english speakers- would I be able to apply now if I want to go in May or would I have to wait until I arrive? If anyone knows of any websites that advertise these kind of jobs or others please let me know. Thank you:)

I've heard somewhere that Marketing is broader and has to do with Advertising but Advertising isn't as broad. I really wanted to go into Advertising. I want to have a type of job in which you come up with cool ideas about comercials and stuff, but the school that I go to only offers a Marketing degree. Would I be able to get into this career with a marketing degree?
