I've been thinking of what kind of career I want after school, and I feel like advertising would be a good choice for me. So my questions are.. 1) What kind of jobs are there in "advertising"? 2) What degrees would be helpful in getting jobs like these? 3) Are advertising jobs hard to get in this economy? Any and all help is appreciated.

Most advertised jobs (in Ontario, Canada) seem to be through placement agencies. Are they real, permanent full time jobs? How do these agencies work? Why don't companies hire engineers directly? Are these placement agencies legitimate? Are the best/better engineering jobs directly through the companies, and not advertised? Are do most engineers work through a placement agency?

I dont see any advertisements on my screen. What is the incentive for them to operate these forums. But I have seen other Yahoo Answerers advertising jobs paying $10 + per hour to answer questions. What is this all about? Why woud Yahoo Answers be paying people to answer questions?
