Picker Job Questions & Answers

Hi, I'm looking for a fruit picking/farm job in Australia. I'd like to start somewhere around February - April. Problem is that many of the sites where you find jobs have positions for "starting immediately", "next week", etc. etc. Where/who should I turn to to find a job months in advance? Thanks.

My siblings, relatives, or college graduate friends etc are amaze and wish to be a fruit picker even for just a while (to give chance to others). My mom's generous and kindhearted uncle was a fruit picker in the U.S. probably 1950's. never got the chance to meet him he died already.

What kind of jobs are entry level and are production such as non-customer service jobs? I don't have much experience so I would prefer jobs that don't require experience.

Okay so. I'm 12 right. And I just want to earn some extra money because I'm going on a holiday soon and want some extra spending money. So, I've been trying to think of some type of job where I can earn just a little bit of money. Nothing like, you know, serious. Just like something casual, if you know what I mean. I can play saxophone and piano and can sing. I like talking to people and am pretty confident too. So, if you have any ideas, I would REALLY appreciate it. Thanks a heap! :)

I think it is unfair for most jobs in the state of California to require that applicants be spanish/english bilingual in order to get hired. I can understand probably 90?f spanish but I cannot speak it well enough to be able to respond. I can read most of it but I cannot write it. Why is it okay for places to require me to learn spanish but it is not okay for the state to require spanish speakers to learn english? And why is it fair that a United States citizen(born and raised) like myself cannot even get a good job because they are already taken by i****************s who do not even have the papers required to have the job in the first place. They have fake SSN's, fake ID's, fake Driver's licenses, and most of them don't even know any english. But they can get a job without a problem. I have not been able to find a job for the last seven months even though I have the experience, my high school diploma, a real SSN, I don't do drugs and I qualify for the jobs that I apply for. Why is this fair??? Please give me your thoughts on this.

I did fruit picking and i liked the job because you walk in the greenhouse in the morning and pick fruit down your own rows and you can get on with it without getting bothered by people. Would any production line work be the same?

They argue that government spending does not create jobs or stimulate the economy. They argue that only private sector jobs stimulate the economy. However, my personal life experience indicates otherwise. As many of you know, I owned a manufacturing company. Many of my contracts were government contracts to make parts for aircraft, trains, and many other products. This is government spending that actually stimulated the local economy. ALL of the other business owners I know make money from government contracts. Whether it is a service contract with the GSA, or a military contract to make spare parts, the private sector benefits tremendously from government spending. Furthermore it isn't limited to federal government spending. The local police and fire department also spend money. When they buy new police cars, they spend money to get the cars retrofitted with lights, decals, and interior renovations. This work often goes towards local private businesses. Local schools issue contracts to local companies for general upkeep, from landscaping and maintenance to supplies and renovations. Government contracts are issued to clean the carpets, paint the walls, and maintain the HVAC. Not only that, but government employees spend the money they earn. They have salaries and they spend, which stimulates the local economy. Government employees do not hoard money in their mattresses. Government employees buy houses, cars, and home supplies, just like you and me. If we stop government spending, like conservatives want, then we lose all these contracts and jobs. If we ship all these things to the private sector, then they become more expensive because the private corporation needs to add money for their profit so the owner can become a billionaire, so privatizing everything will result in higher costs. In short, government contracts already produce billions in stimulus. I don't need a television or radio personality to tell me how government spending helps local businesses. I see it all the time. QUESTION: Despite direct observational evidence, why do Republican conservatives continually state that government spending creates no jobs? Also keep in mind, that government spending MUST by LAW be on American companies, while private sector companies continuously ship our jobs overseas. So government spending = only on American companies. Private corporate spending = jobs in China or India where labor is cheaper. Why would private sector spending help more than government spending?

Please don't post babysit, mow lawns, poop picker, pet/plant sit, pick up mail or any of the commoon jobs. I heard from this one lady that people will pay kids to read books and review them so that could be interesting, and i also heard about this thing were a company gives you stuff to pass out to your friends and they pay you! It would be great if you could check on these two things and other ideas are welcomed too. I live in VA, around Fairfax.
