Picker Packer Job Questions & Answers

Sort by:
Im trying to apply for a warehouse position as a Picker/Packer since this is what I have experience doing or something else but I try to visit companies that I'm interested in applying and the usual response is that their not hiring and so they don't give me a job application. So what I usually do is first call the company and ask if their hiring, and if they say "no but come get a job application", I do. But my main concern is how is it really done, how are warehouse positions sought. If all of you have any information about how to apply for a warehouse position or how can someone apply for a warehouse position it would be appreciated. I just need some advice so I can go back to my job search because it's kind of expensive to drive to a company and then be told that they don't give out job applications unless their hiring and this is usually the case. It's not like in retail where they always give out job applications.

What kind of jobs are entry level and are production such as non-customer service jobs? I don't have much experience so I would prefer jobs that don't require experience.

I know they have hired managers but when do they hire pickers/packers? Also what are they chances of getting hired on or is it only seasonal? Anything, anyone?

I need to have examples of American jobs but not jobs that you have to go to college for (like a doctor or a police man) I'm thinking things like mailman or waitress. Ideas?

Or is it more like "I'm going to find a job!" and give me and my family a better life. I really don't think they come here to purposely annoy us and I think they would do it the legal way if there was a legal way for them to do it. Do we need to defend ourselves from tomato pickers, cleaning ladies, nannies, meat packers, construction workers and waiters? Don't we have bigger fish to fry?
