I am a senior in high school and almost about to start college. I want to know the difference because i would like to be working on cars and fixing them one day. But i don't want just a mechanic that works in a shop, i want something more something that has a degree or a trade school behind it that will help me make more money. Is there other automotive jobs that i didn't mention that you know of that would actually be better? Out of all of them who makes the most? Which takes longer? What is the closet one to be working with cars? What would you recommend for a good paying job but also following your passion on cars?

I have a good knowledge of cars and have worked on my personal cars and bikes but have never had a job in the auto repair industry. i am 20 and don't care about pay or doing the grunt work like changing tires, oil, and other basic maintenance I just want the experience so I can go into more complex automotive jobs latter in my career.

I've been told that there are not a lot of automotive jobs in Orlando because of the technical schools in the area, including Universal Technical Institute, but I'm not convinced.

I went to school for 9 months at lincoln tech. Unfortunately I ran into some personal problems and I had to drop out. I am now able to re enroll. I was having a very hard time getting jobs in the automotive field. I was wondering if I finish the program and graduate will it make that much of a difference in getting an automotive job.

I am 16 and I want an automotive job. I have worked on countless cars but I know Lexus the best. I have an SC400 that I have been fixing up, B4 that I had an Explorer, and B4 that I had an Olds Cutlass. I fixed them all up and made money off of them. I would love to know any automotive jobs that would be interested in hiring a 16 yo. I already applied at Auto Zone but they said you have to be 18 and older which I think is a crock of crap, but anyway, does anybody know good auto jobs for a 16 yo? Jiffy lube, any car parts store, car lot, anything cars. Thanks in advance. Thank's for the answer! I think I might prefer buying car's, fixing them up, and selling them for profit, but I am in NM, and it is rare when any car that I know is up for sale for cheap to where I know I can get a profit for them. Cheap cars and trucks aren't as bountiful as I'd like them to be right now in Albuquerque.

This one's going to be big. Hospitals have been abusing the system and American people for years, hiring without limits, charging people and the insurance companies whatever they wanted, building lavish palaces and expensive, big, perhaps unnecessary machines...and even now, with every industry cutting back on workers and spending, these people are still hiring? I've been in Michigan for years dealing with a recession, or is it depression? The hospitals have been doing the same thing here. All the troglodytes have been getting health care jobs when their automotive jobs got cut. I wonder what will happen when the party ends for these people? Reality has to hit soon. It might be overnight, I don't think they're living in financial reality. The real estate industry was like this too before the collapse. Will Americans realize this before it's too late? Probably not! Then what's this? http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2009/01/health-care-ind.html?csp=34 Pancho, it won't be fun, but it'll be reality. Do you think the care we have today is operating in an economic reality? Habsburg, they don't turn anyone down for a job. The quality of workers there are the same as the worst people I used to employ at the restaurant I used to manage. That's not a good sign.
