Loan Officer Job Questions & Answers

I need to find a loan officer job with a company that is national in scope that pays 90?omission (or has a per loan or maybe per month flat fee?) and does NOT have a lot of bs fee's. I need this to be a broker and not a banker. I will work from home and pay out all exspenses. In other words the company will have NO real over head/exspenses associated with me.

How do you think Loan officer jobs will be in the next 2 years? Do you think they will still make money, do you see this career as something that will still exist 20 years from now?

I have an interview with a mortgage company tomorrow hiring a loan officer. The owner mentioned he typically hires for commission only, but has in the past and considered a small base salary plus commission to get started. The Economy: Rates are historically low on mortgages, home prices are low, but banks are not lending. Do you think I could make money? I have 7 years sales experience. How much do loan officers make?

I just recently started a new job as a loan officer. I have never done this type of work before. I work for a mortgage company and need to know creative ways to market my services to people who may want to buy a mortgage loan in my area. I've started a profile online and contacted several people in my area but I don't want to stop there. What else can I do besides build relationships with realtors? How do I find the people I need to find? The people who want to buy a home????

I am interviewing for a F&I position right now with an auto dealership. I don't have much if any experience with auto sub-prime lenders and lending. However, I have been in the mortgage industry and have worked as both a loan officer, analyzing credit and assets of individuals and shopping sub prime lenders to find the best deal and also worked for a lender and qualified sub prime borrowers to fund their loans. My question is: are these jobs similar? Is analyzing credit and qualifying borrowers for auto loans the same or similar to qualifying people for mortgage loans? Are a lot of the terminology and concepts the same?

I have recently become a mortgage loan officer in the DFW area. There is not a lot of experience in my office. Any advice where I can get assistance to survive this market? I would be happy to learn how to close at least one loan per month then build from there. Thanks for your assistance.

I am currently a loan officer at a great company and my husband is being shipped off in 6 months. So I only have that much time to figure out what I am going to do with my 6 month old son. My husband currently works as a hotel manager on the night shift. So my baby has never been in daycare. He watches him during the day and I watch our son at night. I would love to get into something right now so that I can save up for when he leaves, because we will be totally dependent on my income. Please help!

Currently I am a personal banker, but I am taking my 20 hours of required classes and going to be taking the test at the end of the month. I will be starting my new job as a mortgage loan officer next month. I just want to know what to expect? Is the pay good? What is the sales process like? Any info would be great!

My wife and I are looking into buying a home. The loan officer is going back and forth in what we do and don't qualify for. So i have tried to find how to calculate my projected income for the year. I have been getting a lot of over time. However at first they said they can't factor in the over time, now they are saying they do factor that in. So if someone could help me with how i calculate it so I can make sure I understand how all this works. Thanks

Basically I am in sales now, and it has been a constant interest of mine, I know right now the economy is not great. but I do not care, I still feel there might be a level of prestige in the job, and a definite possibility of making a lot of money. Loan officers, I'm assuming you need a degree , but what about mortgages? I already have my real estate license.

I'd like to give my loan officer a gift card, he sacrificed a lot of his commission to get my closing costs down. He has done a great job, I've already fired another loan officer and realtor in my home buying process, so I want to give him a gift to show my appreciation, I'm hard on people who don't give 100?nd I show great appreciation to people who do. I live in Oregon, is it appropriate in that state, I don't know how to find out.

Hi everyone, my question is in regards to getting started in the real estate business. I would really like to learn how to become a real estate loan officer and loan processor. I have tried to get some information about this on my own, but I just end up overwhelmed and unable to identify what I really need to do to become one. I don't really know anyone in the field and the few real estate agents that I have asked only tells me to go to one of their meetings, which I have gone to, only to find that they're just trying to sell me into joining their "team". Is this the only way to go? Or is there another option for me? I have searched online and found numerous classes that offer certificates, are these what I need to take? Should I be taking classes in a community college and earning these certificates or is online acceptable? Do I even need to take classes to earn a certificate and do I even need a certificate? Would I need a license to work as a loan officer and/or processor?

I am looking to change careers somewhat. I am in Sales but want to get into becoming a loan officer because for my love of real estate. The problem is that I do not have any experience or education for this position and I cannot rely on a straight commision while I build a buisness because I have a family to take care of and cannot go without a paycheck. Any help would be appreciated.
