I have an interview for a bank teller job, but I'm honestly not great at math. I work with money some in my job as a librarian assistant, but I always have to use a pen and paper or the computer's calculator for multiplication - I can't do fast calculating in my head. I'm assuming they'll have some kind of cash register. Do you think I'll be ok? Do you think they'll give me a math test on the spot?

How do you look at people with bank teller jobs? Someone once told me it's a low-end, stressful job that only those with no better career opportunities take. Basically, it's for stupid people with no skills and no college degree because anyone can be a bank teller. Do you agree? What are the pros and cons of the job? Is there any room for growth? Please be as honest as possible. Thank you!

I'm looking into teller jobs, both at banks and credit unions. Is there a difference working at a bank or a credit union? I heard at a bank its 50?ales, 50?ransactions, and with credit unions its hardly any sales involved. I don't know if this is correct though. Whats the difference?

A friend of mine is looking for work. She only has 6 months experience working in a bank. After she graduated college, she registered with temp agencies. However, temp agencies is not finding her work right now. All of them put her on the waiting list. She is tired of waiting. She applied for bank teller jobs and two of them they told her she did not "qualify". How would she find a job that could last for a year or more?

I'm a sophomore in high school looking for something different than the usual food service/mall job. I applied to my local bank as a teller but lost out to another girl from my school. She was also looking for a first job, but she had personal connections with the hiring section. The salary for that job was $9.50 an hour. What are some similar jobs that do not require that the workers have graduated high school? Entry level is fine, and I'd work for minimum wage if I had to. I'm not afraid of hard work but I'm not so much into manual labor. I'd prefer something more intellectual, like the bank teller job referenced before. My references are good and my grades/class rank/other school records are impeccable, but I don't have any work experience other than babysitting. Thanks for your help and if you have any suggestions, that would be wonderful! i'm located near Kansas City, KS, if that helps in your search.

I will be a full time teller at capital one bank in Long Island NY. This is my first teller job but I have five years of cash handling and customer service experience. I am also a full time college student. I have not discussed salary yet but I want to know how much to expect. I do not want to be taken advantage of but I also do not want to ask for too much?
