Wire Transfer Clerk Job Questions & Answers

I am going to be getting some wire transfers in the next few days and want to know what steps I need to do to ensure these are legit wires and not from a hacked bank acct. These will possibly coming from the UK or Nigeria. I am wanting to be very very cautious. I want to stall the withdrawl until I know for sure there is no fraudulent activity associated with it. I am wondering how long I would have to stall before things would check out for sure. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

So I just got this letter in the mail and I found out that I'm related to this prince in Nigeria that just died! I feel like I've just won the lottery! I thought all of my ancestors were from Ireland and Scotland. Goes to show how little you know about your roots sometimes! Anyway, they need me to "wire transfer" some money to Nigeria so they can send me my inheritance. Anyone know how to do this???

I don't want to get into it. A stranger is willing to send me money. I don't trust this person, but I want to. This person wants to wire me money from Western Union, to my bank account at Union Bank. What information does this person need? What are the risks of giving out that information? Is there anything else I should be aware of? Please, Only answer if you know what you're talking about. If you're just answering for the points, fine, just put something stupid, and I wont report you.

I have to transfer money to a company in Russia and I tried to do it online but it wouldn't go through so it looks like I have to do it by actually going to one of the locations, so do I have to make an appointment? What kind of information do I need to bring (e.g. social security card)? And what exactly do I do when I get there, just go to one of the windows, say I need to make transaction and they give the paperwork? Thanks.

I met two young ladies, online of purse, and they wanted to use my bank account to supposedly wire some of their money to my account so thy could withdraw half and give me the other half. I course this sounds appealing but with all the scams out there I don't want to get big eyed and taken for a fool. Does anyone have any insight on this or dealt with this offer before?

Can I use one of those Visa Pre-paid giftcards to wire money to someone through Western Union? The giftcard can be bought at Wal-Mart or other stores that sell giftcards. I know the risks of using WU. If not, do I have to be a certain age (over 18) in order to use Western Union? I have a debit card.
