I want to get my first assistant manager job at Radio Shack. I have worked at a Super Target for a year. They trained me in 13 different positions including everywhere from backroom, flow team, instocks, hairlines, softlines, market, signing, presentation, cashier, cart attendant (to clean up chemical spills), guest services, and also electronics. I know the bases of sale and I am very good at taking on a lot at one time. I know in a position like that I would definitely make more than I do now... but I just wanted to know if I would even be considered.. please help?

I'm currently looking for a new job and I've had a few interviews which I think have gone really well. However I have yet to have a job offer. I have bright red dyed hair and I was wondering if this will have affected my chances of getting a job. I've mostly applied for assistant manager jobs in retail fashion along with a few in general retail. I am qualified for these positions.

I am currently working as a retail sales assistant but I have an interview for a retail assistant managers job with a different company. I just need to know how to approach the question of salary in the interview and an idea of how much I should be aiming for. As I haven't previously worked in a managerial role I'm unsure of how much they get paid. I live in the North West of England and the pay seems to vary for the same role. Can anyone help?

I have been accepted to the University of Kansas with a full-tuition scholarship and I have been accepted to the University of Missouri with a half-tuition scholarship. I have also been accepted at Saint Louis University with what is almost a 3/4 tuition scholarship. The last place I have been accepted to is Washington University in St. Louis with no scholarship. I graduated from college in 2011 and I have been working at McDonalds corporation as a crew member since 2007. I am on the management track and will be an assistant manager in probably less than a year. If I get the assistant manager job I would be making more than $36,000 a year. I keep hearing law school is a bad idea. What should I do? Continue at my current job or consider law school? I would have to take loans to pay for my food, housing, and books and left-over tuition. If I go to law school which school should I choose. I am from St. Louis.

I was the housekeeper for six months, and I did more then housekeeping from dropping off and picking up her kids from school, doing office errands in my own vehicle and own gas. She promised me over and over I was going to get the assistant manager job, then she turned around while all along lying to me and gave it to her daughter. Her daughter had not even worked one day with this company, but I was considered an employee what can I do?

I applied for an assistant manager position at a residential facility for adults with disabilities. I do have 6 years experience with disabled adults but the position requires more responsibility;such as, managing up to 20 staff, administrative capabilities, attention to detail and strong organization skills. I do have an interview in the next few days and in need of some advice on how to land this position. How can I convince them I'm right for the job even though I lack management and administrative experience. Thank You!

I just recently accepted the job of assistant manager at a service station, one that I have never worked at before. I start next Tuesday. I'm nervous because I've never been an assistant manager before, nor do I feel fully qualified for such a position. I'm a 20 year old college student, and the reason I was offered the job was because of my experience (I've been working for the past 8 yrs) and because of my good attitude and customer service experience. I'm concerned because the people who will be working under me are both older than I am, and are people who I beat out for the job. Some of them are probably more qualified than I am and know it. I guess my questions are What makes a good assistant manager? How do I balance the "manager" with the "friend"? I feel the need to befriend my employees, because employees can make the manager's life hell (who do you think has to come in at 2:00 in the morning when that shift didn't show up?). Just general advice would be nice.

I'm helping someone with their resume and they were assistant manager for a certain period of time, then they became manager. What should I put for their job title on the resume? I was thinking of putting assistant manager to manager, but wasn't sure if that was okay. Also, their duties didn't change enough to make it two separate entries on the resume. Thanks

Okay so I work at a pizzeria, and I'm a delivery driver, we just got a new general manager in position at our store, and I'm getting to warm up to her right? Well Sunday my assistant manager pulled me aside and like fired me, supposedly with my new gm's permission to do so, but I had a meeting with her and she never told him to do that so I got re-hired. But it makes me think that because this assistant manager didn't get his way this time, what's to stop him from keeping on trying to get me fired? I don't know if I should tell someone higher, because my gm kind of has an idea of his intentions, but I don't know if I should start looking for another job and put in my 2 week notice or stay there and see what happens, I've never been fired from a job before and I'm not willing to gain that on my work record. So I'm confuse. Please help!
