I applied for a State Farm Fire Claims Representative. I only have my high school diploma and some insurance experience in health care and auto insurance in collections and customer service. Do you have to have a degree in order to get work as a fire claims rep for State Farm? The job requirements do not mention a degree. Also how long is the process to get hired?

There is a company/organization that call themselves a non-profit charity organization. they claim to collect donations for poor children in europe. they offered me a freelance representative job in which they would transfer money to my bank account and i would have to western union it to another person. i would get to keep 10 ?f the amount transferred. i am sceptical about this procedure, i dont want to do anything illegal. they say, they need people to do this because they want to avoid paying a "charity transfer tax" i never heard of. the address of contact is in poland. what do you think?

Hi, I suffered an accident on 17/12/2012 in Torrance, CA. I was hit by a man's Jeep.My car was towed to an auto body shop. I am an international student, I had to go back to my own country as I planed three days later. I contact with my claim representative through email and Skype. The driver of the Jeep accepted the fault of the accident after the police report was available(the end of the January). But my claim rep didn't get the police report and contact me until Feb 7th. I came back to United States on Feb 9th. Since I only have the liability insurance, my claim representative gave me a claim number of the case in State Farm(Jeep insurance company) so that I can call them. Here's the problem. State Farm is only willing to cover the storage fees from the auto body shop from the time I called them which is 09/02/2013.Their reason is before that time they could not reach me because before the police report is available, they were not liable for my vehicle. In addition, I was not in the USA and so they can't reach and get the location of my car. They couldn't even find the location of my vehicle from my insurance company. But I definitely gave the address of the auto body shop to my claim rep. I feel somewhat angry for both insurance company. For State Farm, I think without the accident the storage fee could not appear, so why can't they cover it. Meanwhile, I think my insurance company(Progressive) is doing bad job. Why didn't they told me there could be a storage fee? I keep calling and emailing my claim rep when I was in my own country. So my question is can I ask either State Farm or Progressive to cover the storage fee? Thank you guys. I appreciate your help

I once had a job like that but my coworkers resented me because I enjoyed helping people so they teamed up to get me fired. It took 5 years for them to do so but they still have their jobs and I don't and they only love doing as little as possible to help the blind clientele. I loved helping them and the salary and benefits were great. Now I have a job working for one of the richest men in NYC his initials are MB. He pays me peanuts and gives me no benefits. And I hate my duties. I want to help others, but I want to make a good enough salary that I can pay my $1,000 rent and have some health benefits which I need.

Is it really appropriate to a judge's job to find in favor of one side over another because you find them to be dislikable or disagreeable? If so, then exactly how much of a judge's job is based on arbitrary whim and personal feelings? And is it really sanctioned by law to tell people how to behave outside of legal issues?

As a 50?A rated disabled veteran, I have applied to at least 10 different jobs posted for the local MEPS station here in Cleveland. On every occassion people who don't get the veterans preference are given the jobs. I had 6 years experience recruiting while I was on Active Duty, so I am more than qualified for the jobs that are being posted. My resume contains all of the "buzzwords" listed on the skills/qualifications page yet I don't even receive a call. I have less than 10 months until I receive my BS degree in Management, I have received straight A's so far, yet NO calls. Upon further review I have found out a couple of positions that were filled by people that weren't even posted on the OPM website. I have absolutely had it with the way I have been treated for the last year and I want someone to be accountable for their actions.

Who else is sick of those who claim and whine that congresspersons "could make more in the private sector" as a way of excusing their constant raises and huge perpetual benefit packages? Well, then, go and try! Go make more money -- we do NOT want such whiners in office. But that hasn't stopped lawmakers from heading for party retreats at resorts where they spend tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars and mingle with lobbyists. "We're very mindful" of perceptions, House Democratic Caucus Chairman John Larson told reporters Thursday camped outside of the sprawling Kingsmill Resort & Spa in Williamsburg, Va., where House Democrats were on their annual three-day retreat, an event which has in the past cost in the neighborhood of $100,000. "It's serious and it's from morning till night. We've been dwelling, rightfully, on the economy," said Larson, D-Conn. * * * How magnificent of them /not.
