I like math and chemistry and have done well in both thus far, so I was thinking of becoming an engineer, but what type should I become? I want my career to be interesting, and I don't think I want to work with architecture or robotics. Should I even become an engineer? Thanks. Also, what courses of study should I pursue?

So, I'm a senior trying to fill out some scholarship applications and they keep asking me what I plan to major in. For a long time I've thought "environmental engineer", because I've wanted to work with a versatile degree, but the more I read about it, the more it seems it's just about water quality and pollution, rather than really doing much. So, do environmental engineers work with making more sustainable cars/buildings or more environmentally friendly materials on packaging or do they only work with buildings and testing water and things like that? I don't really want to be limited to the latter, so should I look for something like Materials engineering or mechanical?

I would really like to work for Delta Airlines. I am wondering what sort of majors would be best to obtain a career in the airline industry. I am considering communications, business, or French, and I was wondering what sort of jobs the airline industry has that uses those majors. Any information is welcome. Thanks! Also if you could add a ballpark salary estimate with any careers. But only if you have an idea. Thanks.

I'm thinking about changing my career and going back to study environmental studies and engineering. I was really strong in chemistry, but I took a different career. If I knew finding work would be easy, I'd happily undergo a major investment in re-educating and re-training for this. But I wonder what a company that works on inventing solutions would even look like, i.e. how it would be funded and who its customers would be. I want to be part of the effort to help engineer solutions to growing global environment problems. But if I undertake this change, could I find work? Preliminary searches on the internet are not hopeful. If you are in this field, please say something. I'm thinking it may even be possible to work as a facilitator between governments and engineering firms, in a business discipline, to better coordinate more business between the two.
