To apply for a job in the US online and to be taken seriously by an employer, must I be based in the US at that moment? Do I need a visa? I am a British citizen based in the UK but planning to move to the US. I can't really go to America and just look for work as I need to work to pay for my bills here. Although, I am ready to quit my job if I find a job in the US and can arrange to move everything there myself.

Suppose English skills is good, but there is no job experience in any of the countries. It's pretty tough, isn't it? But what about studying for your masters and also working in a part-time job? Is it doable? I have BS in both mathematics and philosophy of science. Also I have a teaching certificate (not sure it will be valid in any of the countries). @ ? : Thanks for your valuable answer. @ ibuguru : You are a bit harsh but thank you too!

If I am not getting a job offer from any company and it is getting too late or I really want to move. Or Can US embassy give me work permit or temp VISA upon my request to go to US and then try finding an opportunity ?

Some immigrants have family already living here who can support them until they get on their feet. Other people come over on student visas & end up getting a job and staying here full-time. But what about the families that come over here with nothing?? How do they simply pack up their stuff & come to America?? What do they do until they find a job, home, car, etc.?? I don't understand how they just come over here.

So I notice that loads of my friends on social media sites are going abroad (Australia, New Zealand, etc) but i've always wanted to go to America. My brother has been before, but the people who he went through have stopped the programme, so I cant go through them. Do I need to have an actual job lined up before getting out there? I really don't mind the job, I just really want to live out there for a while, and experience it all before it's too late! I was wondering if there was anybody else that may have been recently and could offer me some advice on how I can go about planning for this?

There is a list of job responsibilities, but no list of qualifications that they are looking for. Here is their ad: "Marketing and Promotion Coordinator This is a full-time position that entitles the employee to all benefits. This position reports to the director of communications and public affairs and consists of fundraising and developing public awareness through special events and promotions. General Responsibilities to include: - Design, implement, maintain, and track annual fund activities utilizing special events, promotions, and any other campaigns. - Assist chief development officer and director of communications in drafting an annual departmental plan in conjunction with the organizational budget and implement that plan within the confines of the overall development department budget. - Work as a team with development staff. - Serve as staff representative on appropriate committees. - Perform speaking engagements as assigned by the director of communications and chief development officer. - Conceptualize and execute special events. - Represent [the company] at benefit events and educational activities when necessary. - Assist annual fund manager with volunteer recruitment activities including presentations to businesses, civic groups, schools, etc. A complete job description is available upon request. Send applications & job resume by April 4, 2011" Should I email them and ask them for a complete job description and hope that it includes the qualifications they are looking for? Or should I just email and ask about qualifications? I have 1.5 years of marketing experience, but I don't have a degree of any kind so that's what I am worried about.

I love this girl who lives in Florida, and I really want to be with her. I want to go and settle in Florida but I don't know how? I'm an unqualified adult living in a South-Eastern Country of this World who had to drop out of School (in class 9) cause of financial reasons. I can't go back to School as it's not possible in my Country, so I'm formally unqualified for any job. But honestly, I don't even want to any other job other than jobs related to animals. Now I really wish if I could get a job in any animal Shelther in Florida, so that I could go there and not only do the job but also be with her. :( I know I'm unqualified but I'm a hardworking person and ready to do any job possible as long as I can apply for it my mail. Please someone guide me? Also, is there any formal education required for an animal related job in the US? If so, guide me @Frank: All the options seems unfavourable at the moment/or ever, if I be honest, so does that mean chances of my being with her are zero? is there no other way for me to settle in the states for my hardwork and wanting to do any job possible?
