Here is the breakdown on what is going on.... Corporations support the government (ie...lobbyist)--- In return the government supports the corporations need for cheap labor (because the lobbyist have paid them off)--- Therefore...the government supports illegal immigration (so the lobbyist will be happy about the cheap labor and keep giving them $$). No one with money involved in this is pro amnesty because they love the people coming here....it is ONLY because it is driving down labor cost. It have no love for them...they only see them as dollar signs. Does that break it down simply enough for all you proamnsty....er..."people". (and I use that word loosely!!!) Ok fine...I apologize for calling them people and insulting them... I for one was a nanny/housekeeper when I was younger and in college...I made $500 a month + room and board.... yes all people in construction should make minimun wage.... I see that some people just do not understand the big picture... THE MORE PEOPLE WE HAVE IN A JOB MARKET THE LESS THAT MARKET WILL PAY. My brother works construction (he is a supervisor) and he has seen the wages go down. That's awesome...just what the American people need.

HATTIESBURG, Mississippi -- A federal judge has set an opt-out deadline of Nov. 29 deadline for those eligible for part of a proposed, $1.3 million class-action settlement alleging discriminatory hiring practices at Howard Industries, which was the target of the largest U.S. workplace raid on i****************s. The discrimination was filed by four black women who claimed the company gave preferential treatment to Latinos. U.S. District Court records show Howard Industries will pay $1.3 million into a settlement fund to be paid to possibly as many as 5,000 non-Hispanic individuals who applied for jobs at the company between March 2003 and Aug. 28, 2008. Also, within nine months after the settlement, the company will hire at least 70 of the individuals who had applied for jobs, according to court documents. Howard Industries, according to court records, entered the settlement without admitting any wrongdoing. The Hattiesburg American reports that U.S. District Court Judge Keith Starrett entered an order Oct. 5 outlining the processes involved in distributing the settlement. A final fairness hearing is scheduled for Jan. 23. The lawsuit claimed that one of the plaintiffs applied for a job at the Howard Industries electrical transformer plant in Laurel, Miss., every three to six months beginning in 2002, but wasn't offered a position until after the 2008 raid. The other plaintiffs made similar allegations. Immigration agents detained nearly 600 i****************s during the raid at the sprawling plant. Most of them were deported, though a handful faced identity theft charges. The company was fined $2.5 million in February 2011 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to violate immigration laws. The lawsuit claimed Howard Industries not only knew it was hiring i****************s, but instructed some on how to get false identities and concealed the fact that hundreds of employees were i****************s. Federal authorities made similar allegations against the company. Howard Industries repeatedly denied knowing that i****************s worked at the plant, and blamed the situation on its former personnel director, Jose Humberto Gonzalez. Gonzalez was the only company executive charged in the case and pleaded guilty in December 2009. He was sentenced last March to six months house arrest and five years on probation for knowingly hiring i****************s. His fine was $4,000. Howard Industries has said the i****************s used fake papers to circumvent numerous identification checks the company uses. Prosecutors said the company knowingly hired i****************s. Some of the workers were given jobs even after the Social Security Administration told the company that their Social Security numbers were not valid, prosecutors said. The same allegation is made in the civil lawsuit. http://blog.gulflive.com/mississippi-press-news/2012/11/howard_agrees_to_proposed_13m.html

“It was a bold response to skyrocketing health insurance premiums. President Barack Obama would give federal authorities the power to block unreasonable rate hikes,” reports the Associated Press. “Yet when Democrats unveiled the final, incarnation of their health care bill this week, the proposal was nowhere to be found.” “This is a very good bill for insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies,” said Rep. Stephen Lynch, a Democrat, on Thursday. “The insurers still rule,” Lynch added. “Were just pumping subsidies into the current system, but that won’t drive down costs.” In December, Howard Dean, the former Democratic National Committee Chairman, said the legislation before Congress “is a bigger bailout for the insurance industry than AIG.” Dean characterized it as “an insurance company’s dream.” Do insurance companies hate Obamacare as Democrats insist? Not at all. This bill is almost identical to the plan written by AHIP, the insurance company trade association, in 2009. The original Senate Finance Committee bill was authored by a former Wellpoint VP. Since Congress released the first of its health care bills on October 30, 2009, health care stocks have risen 28.35? When $130 million was needed in 2009 to balance the Massachusetts state budget, the Connector – with the blessing of MA Gov. Deval Patrick and the MA legislature – removed about 28,000 legal immigrants – working people paying taxes – from their insurance plans. Another 8,000 or so were barred from enrolling in insurance plans because the MA legislature voted to cap enrollment in the subsidized plans. This took place at the same time Mr. Obama was trying to sell the ACA to the nation, so, under pressure from Washington, the MA legislature restored some of the money, and the Connector dumped these people, without their consent, into an out-of-state plan with higher copays, less comprehensive coverage and next to no doctors or safety net hospitals in its network. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/iyah-romm/lessons-from-massachusett_b_380718.html This has huge implications for the ACA. If legal immigrants can be removed from their plans and others denied enrollment when a state budget is squeezed, which vulnerable segment of the population is next in line? The good news is these legal immigrants in MA sued the Connector and its then-Executive Director, Jon Kingsdale, and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled unanimously that the state could not violate their right to equal protection under the state and federal constitutions and fiscal considerations alone can not justify a state’s invidious discrimination against them. As a result of this decision, the state had to come up with some bucks, and the Connector was forced to put the plaintiffs back into their original plans. http://www.healthlawadvocates.org/priority-areas?id=0015 And if all that isn't bad enough... CFPB = Consumer Fraud Protection Bureau “Those who are blocking Elizabeth Warren from even being nominated are members of ‘The Financial Crisis Never Happened Caucus’,” Rep. Maloney said. “In her role as Assistant to the President since September creating the CFPB, Mrs. Warren has shown her unique skills in traveling across the country and meeting with everyone to be affected by the new body: from bank executives to those with troubled mortgages. She’s demonstrated that a regulator must reach out, listen to all sides and decide issues in the public interest. It’s time for the President to appoint her to the Director’s job—regardless of her misguided Senate opponents.” “Just last month, the CFPB proposed simple one-page disclosure forms for mortgages that make clear the terms and conditions in plain English. It’s beyond me how things like this so terrify the CFPB’s antagonists,”
