 | I'm currently in High school at the moment- in the middle of my GCSEs and have a keen interest in science but have an interest in maintaining efficiency, convenience etc in a work environment. I thought that to be a management consultant would be ideal, it's just that I'm not quite sure with what I have to do to get there, what subjects etc to take, and would my interest in science be of any good in this field? Thank you!

 | Considering taking up a business degree next year for college and wondering what exactly I can do with a degree and what my work would look like.
Was mainly looking at some kind of management, consultant or accounting job. Anyone have insight as to what my day to day life would look like at work? I know I don't need to decide on a major right now but it would be nice to know generally what I want to do.

 | I am doing my MBA (majoring in Management) now and very much interested to become a Management Consultant in my near future. I have wide working experience in various fields even though my undergraduate was from IT background. Currently I am administering in an Examination Division in a private University. To achieve my aim, I have decided to involve my self in the corporate training and development field to gain more knowledge and experience mainly in the sector of management. Will this help me to reach my goal? What I could like to know is, how shall I go about to achieve my goal and aim to become a successful Management consultant? What are the areas that I should focus on? And also may I know, what are a Management Consultant’s actual duties or job functions are? I am seeking for a good guider to guide me to achieve my goal?

 | I want to work in the business sector or bank - would it be difficult to break into those fields and rise upwards with an economics degree? I know two people who have bachelor's degrees in economics and they both work as management consultants. Can I work with a job that actually involves the handling of money or will they likely plug me into consulting?
What job titles would I probably have with an econ degree? Do most people with an econ degree become analysts? Could I be something like a financial manager? I probably wouldn't have an accounting job, would I?

 | Can anyone suggest a job they have, or have heard of people they know who have jobs that allow extensive travelling? I'm a software engineer at a bank and am looking to change career. Few ideas I have are management consultant companies, e.g. McKinsey. or helping out with my family business attending art auctions at various locations. Obviously McKinsey isn't an easy company to get in, and possibly won't give me enough personal time to do my own thing while travelling. Any ideas are welcome!

 | I'm torn between doing a degree in Spanish and Linguistics (which I would prefer) or Economics and Management. I want a career in management consultancy and I've seen on the Oxford website that recent graduates of Modern Languages and Linguistics include a management consultant. How did that graduate get there? I plan to do an MBA in the future but will that, and some management work, be enough?

 | I’m a Canadian graduate and I am seeking to start a career in the United States.
I have been studying the different options in terms of visas for several years now, and my search seems to be leading me to a dead-end so far. From my understanding, H1-B visas are almost impossible to get (at least not unless one can find an employer that is willing to wait till October 2008), and there is no TN-1 visa matching my qualifications, given that I am no “management consultant”. Furthermore, I have no intention of getting married at the present time.
In terms of my qualifications, I have a bachelors degree (bachelor of Commerce in Management) and I speak 3 languages fluently (English, French, and Spanish).
Although I am at the entry-level stage, my resume is quite interesting and I would have no troubles finding a job. I just need to know whether or how the immigration process can be made possible.
I’m seeking serious answers only, please.
By the way, I have no intention of doing anything illegal... and I am familiar with all the aspects of the H1-B, BUT... it's impossible to get until October 2008. It's funny that you all mention Mexico, because I'm actually living in Mexico right now.. LEGALLY of course.. WIth my qualifications, it's been real easy to get a working visa here.. but I just don't understand how come I can't get one in the United States.. or even how come there are so many Mexicans that are in the US *LEGALLY* and I can't even do it...

 | A lot of prohibition gangsters got put away for tax evasion (Al Capone for one). How did the government get around the fact that to admit profits from illegal activities would mean admitting to the illegal activities? Am I wrong here?
or is that why gangsters nowadays (look at TV shows like the Sopranos) now have shell corporations and legitimate seeming jobs like Waste Management Consultant?

"Four Italian management consultants have come up with a novel way to get ahead in business - read fewer textbooks and watch more films. ...all good films teach lessons about behaviour. ...High-quality films, though, can offer lessons about problem-solving and teamwork as well as focusing on issues such as globalisation and diversity" UNQUOTE above article.
What movies would you recommend to Political Bosses to watch and learn from?
Do you believe in the CONCEPT of certain movies as being viable for the job you do there today.. if not the end result?.. if so, which film CONCEPT works for you in your mind, yet won't be tried and tested in real life?
I wanted to put in the politcal category, but yahoo wouldn't allow me - strange that isn't it?.. Maybe we'll get more constructive advice here...
Re Michael Ceasar - so much for CONSTRUCTIVE ideas here !! Pray do tell me WHAT politician have you got in mind that could learn god knows what from your list?.. TOO much "knowledge" is as bad as too little !! It does, however show everyone a LOT about YOUR personality and skill levels !.. MAYBE.. YOU are a consultant psychologist?...hmmm I think not somehow !
To clarify here, maybe we should constrain it to top 3 movies that Bosses could learn from...
