 | Hi. I have just got a job offer from a small growing management consulting firm based in NYC. The job is very interesting and very "hands on", and money is pretty good as well ( better then top 10 average).
There is just one problem: the company is not famous.
In 2/3 years what will be the difference between me and my collegues working in McKinsey?
Thank you

 | I'm a Psychology major that is looking to get into either management consulting or I/O Psychology. Is there a difference between the two? Personal tips, experience, etc. are very helpful! Unfortunarely, I do not have any experience in this field yet. Does my Psychology degree give me a good chance at landing a job in a consulting firm? What else is needed in order to prepare for such a career? Thanks!

 | I am a grad student and spent the entire year in Turkey. I took on a management consulting job that payed 'under the table' and I am wondering what my obligation is to the IRS (the position didn't pay well, just enough to keep me afloat). Thanks for your advice, I am having a time trying to solve this puzzle. I am sure your answer will be of great help to others in my position.

 | I graduated Summa c*m Laude from a small school and scored a 730 on the GMAT, but I can't seem to get a first round interview with management consulting firms because I am not in their recruiting pipeline. Are my online applications a waste of time? Is there anything else I can do?

 | I am looking for a 2/3 years job where I can learn a lot, make strong experience and build a very good resume.
My target is to be accepted in one of the top 5 MBA programs in 2/3 years.
Currently I have an offer in Procter and Gamble (engineering) but I was considering to apply for a top management consulting company as well.
What do you think?
Thank you
I have been already offered a job at a management consulting company

 | I got my bachelor's in entrepreneurship and I know I have some really creative and new business ideas that would be successful. But is there a job for that? I can't finance them myself because I'm only 23. I've considered management consulting but is there something else for my specific niche? How do I get my talent in this area out there? Thanks.

 | Preferably involving marketing or finance or statistics and not design.
I know this is really specific, but I want some kind of job involving international travel and working for a fashion magazine or designer. I am really good at math and business, and would prefer to do some sort of management consulting but don't exactly know how to get started.
Any advice/suggestions/ideas?

 | I only have experience working at small, unknown companies but would like to find a job at a large company. I have a ton of project management/consulting experience, but I think I'm being overlooked for a number of positions because hardly anyone recognizes the companies I've worked for. Any suggestions on how to best overcome this?

 | My wife has a B.S. degree in Operations and Logistics...an MBA in M.I.S. And she is PMI-certified as a project manager, has ITIL certification, and some Six Sigma experience...no certification.
She enjoys strategy creation and implementation tasks and roles and gets a little bit of those types of experiences in her current role. But, mainly she is a project manager and program manager.
How can she get a strategy job in corporate america? She wants to do more of what she feels passionate about and less of the administrative/repetitive tasks.
We live in the Chicago Northwest suburbs.
Oh...she also wants work/life balance since we have kids. So it would seem that management consulting with the big agencies would not be an option since they seem to work constantly.

 | I spent four years in the military after high school and then went to college at a local state school. It's not that I couldn't handle a top-tier private university, but since tuition is free to veterans in my state, I just couldn't justify spending $100,000+ on school... plus I still wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with my life. I am now poised to graduate in May with a degree in economics and a minor in management. I have a 3.9 overall GPA and am a member of two national honor societies. I've decided that I'd really like to get into management consulting when I graduate, but I've found that most of the major players in the industry are recruiting out of Wharton, Harvard, Tuck, etc. Is trying to find a good job in consulting a fool’s errand for me because of my academic pedigree or do I have a shot?

 | I got a job offer from a small but interesting management consulting firm in New York. I am sure I will get a lot of good experience in the company and money is pretty good as well.
My only fear is that I might have problems when I want to apply for a top MBA program in 2/3 years.
What do you think?

 | I'm starting to think about college and studying business, but I'm not exactly sure what area to major in, but most likely Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or Management Consulting. Which of these will provide for me the best in the future when I finish college?
