I want to rent small houses, gut em, remodel em, and sell em but I'm not gonna do it if i have to pay for other people to do the work for me. Do you really need to be a certified electrician to legally do the electrical work? I'd become a certified electrician but unfortunately you appranetly can't just go to college for it, you need on the job training and my job won't allow for that.

Jus wondering what the job outlook is for anybody with a degree in Industrial Systems Technology. I always thought that having a degree in the field basically meant you were a certified electrician but I just would like a more in depth description of the Job Field for someone with this degree.

I want to go into the construction field to become a electrician. I also want to get training in other fields. My questions are: Will I be a certified electrician when I am done? Can I train in other fields also? How much do you actually make a month and can you go more than just the two days? What are the chances of getting deployed?

I am an Electrical Engineering student (lets say I graduate this). I live in Minnesota, and go to school at North Dakota State University, if that matters. I would like to possibly know and be able to do wiring in new houses for personal use, and possibly a side job, or retirement job. What would it take for me to do this? Would it require me to go through a couple years of additional training, or is it as simple as a 4 week class and a test?

Need to run a wire from Air Conditioner (one side of basement) to Electric Panel (opposite side of the basement). Basement is finished so drywall ceiling/wall likely needs holes drilled and patched. What is reasonable for a certified electrician to complete? Thanks in advance for your help!!!

I'm going to be moving there in a while and was wandering what jobs are in high demand. Going to college there and looking at some courses at home right not to get certified as an electrician, house framer, d*******r, or EKG tech. Is what I'm currently looking at, or should I just hope to be able to get some type of fast food job to pay for school.

I'm currently serving in the united states marine corps, I have 1 more year left. I'm looking to get out and work as a electrician. I know that there is an apprenticeship program in the marines but I never enroll cause of numerous numbers of deployments but, I heard of a rumor that I will get at least 4000 hours towards my apprenticeship to work up to my journeyman electrician licenses but I'm not sure if that is true.

I know that inte US a work visa can get your foot in the door and help you a lot when applying for PR. Is it the same way for Canada?

I am an electrician and disagree with places like the Home Depot giving seminars on wiring. A little knowledge can be dangerous and I wonder how many people have burned down their houses or electrocuted themselves after taking one of these seminars. What do you think? Should they be allowed to give crash courses in something that should only be done by a cerified electrician who has spent YEARS learning his trade as opposed to a few hours on a Saturday afternoon?
