How to remove glasspacks if they are welded in?
I have a '78 El Camino with really old glass packs that I'm thinking about replacing but they are welded into the aluminum dual exhaust system. I want to reuse the system but just replace the mufflers. Aren't mufflers usually tightened with connectors not welded right into the system?

I need to cut 2 inches off the seating tube of an aluminium bike to lower the seat. How should I do it?
I have a new bike that is mint. But I need to cut two inches off the seat tube in order to lower the saddle. The bike is just marginally too big for me. I have not cut aluminium (or anything) and would apprecaite any tips. I do not want to start the job without guidance as I might ruin the bike. What tools do I need? What technique should I use? What tips are there? Thanks

I have a handful of roots in my plumbing mains. Do I need to replace the pipe?
I know the roots are there because I just had the drain rooted by the plumber. A handful of hair-like roots and some other unspeakable toilet products came out. The plumber is telling me I NEED to send a camera down there ($250) and probably need to replace the drain ($2K and up). Is he exaggerating or can I just pour that root-killer liquid down the drain. Oh, and PS is that liquid like an abomination to the environment and marine life?

A few questions about how to tile a bathroom?
I'm going to be tiling my bathroom for the first time, and have a few questions that I need to get answered. I will be using ceramic tile for the job. Here goes: How do I cut the tiles for the toilet screw holes? Can I just buy a special drill bit for my 18v drill? Is there a simple way to cut the hole for the pipe into the toilet? For the tiles against the tub, do I use caulk or grout?

What will i do day to day in the USCG as a non rate E3 out of boot?
I go to boot camp on the 9th of march 2010, I have 3 years of JROTC so I will be an E-3 after I graduate. I was wondering what I will be doing day to day as a non rate. I would like to do ME as my rate. I was also wondering if I am more likely to not be put on a cutter as an E-3 out of boot.

What's The Best Power Tool For Cutting 1/2" Metal Tubing?
I need to cut lots of thin wall metal (usualy brass) tubing for applications in the lighting industry. I need nice clean perpendicular cuts and find a hand tubing cutter to be slow and "messy". However I would rather not have to use a huge 14" chop-saw due to space considerations. Can anyone recommend a power tool that will do the job without being way over powered - preferably bench mounted?
