Detailer Job Questions & Answers

I'm just wondering what kind of money a car detailer at a car dealership would make. Especially If he was the head detailer. I'm not assuming he Would make a lot just because he's the head detailer because he may be only 1 of 2 or 3 at the dealership that does detailing. If that were the case, that doesn't necessarily mean he's real good at it. It could just mean that outta 2 or 3 guys, he's better than them. I don't care what a car detailer makes if he works for himself because I've already been told by many people that guys like that can make $100-200k in one year.

I want to pick a job that will give me experience in business or financing, which would make my resume look better to companies or schools. Eventually I want to be an office administrator or something similar. What job would give me the best experience for that when I get out in 4 years? This experience plus a Bachelors or Masters degree should make me more competetive in the job hunt when I get out.

Im 19 and I got offered both these jobs but don't know which one to choose. The detailing is 8.25 an hour plus tips. I enjoy washing my families cars and like that its outside, but worried i will suffer in the winter. 25-35 hours a week. The pizza job is 9.50 an hour full time. I can make a nice pie, but don't like that i"ll be behind a counter all day and worry if i"ll get side tracked from going to school. Which one would you choose and why?

I own a '95 red bonneville and we call it "old red" because of all his white bald spots. If I repaint over the oxidation will it affect the finish or how long the paint finish lasts? Could this be fixed by a detailer?

I tried working in a factory because I thought, great no customer service or communication skills needed, but I still had to work with coworkers I really didn't get along well with. I was fired for not being a team player. It's hard to get along with others and I really just want a job where I can work alone or with objects and be left alone in peace.

I just got a job as a detailer for a nice car dealership. My first day is on Saturday and I don't know what pants and shoes I should wear. I'm guessing something that looks nice but I can also get wet and dirty since I'm gonna be washing cars. Any ideas?

I am a 17 year old with no job experience, but i always have been interested in working physically. I am pretty skinny/scronny right now and I expect this occupation to be physically demanding and hopefully toughen me up a bit. How would i go about finding a job like this? Also the job would have to be constant moving, with a break every once in awhile. Not just a "unload 3 times a day" and sit down the rest of the time.

I have an 05 sebring convertible. It's 6 years old so it has some minor light scratches(not caused by me) and i was wondering if i went to a good car detailer, would they be able to eliminate these? or should i just get touch up paint and do it myself?

My real life Example: I feel that joining that Navy was a Huge Big and perpetual mistake, but the Job Detailers at MEPS got me to enlist under false pretenses. I admit, I did make a huge life error, but I am bouncing back from this mistake. Also, if they were truthful with me, I likely would not have enlisted in the first place. It was a mistake, I wish I didn't make. Example of other people's mistakes; People getting married to the completely wrong person. They knew they were getting into, then the person they married lied about something big. "Fool me once, Shame on you. Fool me twice, you will never fool me again!" - President George W. Bush

I'm researching what kind of jobs I would like to do, and would like the following questions answered: What math is used on the job? I honestly do not care how much math I have to take in college, just so long as I'm not using complicated calculus three formulas or something once I have my job. I do understand that math is used a lot in this job, though, I just want to know how much, and what is used. Pay? Are the hours flexible? Is there any art involved? (I really hope you say no on this one,:])

I live in Arkansas and I was just wondering how much u would probably make if u were the head car detailer at a dealership? Ive heard people say that a car detailer can make 100-$200,000 a year, but even if they're talking about detailers who work for themselves, that sounds very unrealistic considering I'm in road construction which is a more tougher and important job and I don't even make near 6 figures being a machine operator. The way I see it, if car detailers made that much more money than what I make, why would anyone want someone to clean their car when they would have to pay a whole lot. Im sure anyone can become good at detailing cars if they done it awhile. Some people when they are being taught a profession, they have trouble comprehending things, but I think anyone could understand how to clean a car a certain way. It's not something u would have to be very smart for u to be able to do it.

I know it is based on the Navy's needs, how well I do in "A" school, the dream sheet and rates (jobs). I just want to know if there is a way to know what rates are available there or if there is a better chance of getting stationed there. I don't know if it being a larger base will give me a better shot or a worse shot of getting stationed in San Diego.

I've never had my car detailed. My carpet has gone though years of coffee spills and spot cleaning. I recently called a local detailer and found out they charge $179. I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried to detail themselves by renting the steam cleaners at the grocery store or if I should just pay the money for the detailing.

My husband is stationed at Hickam AFB, HI and I am at RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom. We are trying to start a family, but I don't want to be seperated from him with all the stressors of the baby all on me while I work 50+ hrs per week. Would the AF Move us to be together once I had the baby if our jobs were available at the corresponding base? The 11 hour time difference is already hard enough on us.
