I know is very hard to get your talents noticed in this business since there is soo much competition out there. I know that there is an assistant as a second choice which is also good. I'm just wondering if I don't make it as a top fashion designer or assistant is there another good job in this career run? If there is what would it be and what is the average pay for it?

I am a self-proclaimed "fashion designer" with his own line of clothes to sell. My plan is to show the clothes at the local college, using their students who are studying modelling (gets them job experience and me advertisement). Then selling the clothes at local swap meets and mall events. Does anyone have any experience on this who could give me a little advice? Also, if anyone has any other ideas as to how I could better market/sell my product, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Do you have to go to college to become a fashion designer? How do you start your own fashion business? What if I don't start my own business, what other fashion related jobs can I get with a high salary? I am basically looking for a high paying salary with a job relating to my interest, fashion.

So Im having a hard time deciding on what I'm going to study in college I'm stuck between fashion design and a vet I'm leaning towards fashion design more. But anyways I want to study fashion design because I want to start my own line. The only thing is I'm scared that once I finish college I won't be able to find a job I'm also not a great drawer. I want to know 1; how much a fashion designer gets payed? 2; would it be hard to find a job once I'm done with college? 3; Do I have to be a really good drawer to be able to pursue this dream? 4; how many years does it take?

They only worry since they don't think that its a very good job and want me to become a lawyer or doctor instead. I know that many designers don't get paid that much and go through a lot but I really love designing.I really want to be a designer since I've been sewing since a young age and its been a big dream of mine. I know that its really hard to get to be a big known fashion designer but even if I get as close as being able to own a little botique I'd be happy. How can I convince them that this is something that i'd be happy with?
