I want to get a Bachelor's Degree in Film/Video Production to be a film/trailer editor. But I also want to go to a regular college so I can also study Communications/journalism as a backup career plan to be a copy editor/ web content editor. Are there any colleges with solid film programs that aren't specialized film colleges like Florida State University except cheaper?

I'm a senior in college, film/video major, thinking of applying at local news stations for a job as a camera man/editor. However, they ask you to include your salary requests, and I have no idea what a reasonable salary would be. Any camera men out there? What's a good salary for a starting out videographer?

Hi, everyone. I wanted to know the difficulty level from perhaps a person that's had experience in the film field. How easy or difficult is it to actually get a job as a film director, or producer, or perhaps a cameraman, or video editor; is it easier in a big city? Thanks!

I'm starting uni this September to do a film &video degree but I've been told by people working in the industry that degrees are useless and you're better off getting running jobs on films sets and working your way up from there? What are you thoughts and opinions on this. I would someday like to direct my own film.

I am 16 and I'm thinking about my career. I live in Ohio and want to move and go to a big city, like Chicago. I am in the Graphic design program at my school. I want to get into film and video maybe becoming an editor for like movies and stuff or a photographer for celebrities and model photoshoots like on magazine and for album covers. But I really think is a risky business to get into and i know one thing is I want to be rich, I want to not live paycheck to pay check. I don't want to doctor. So what else. What about real estate?

I have several minutes of steady filmed panorama HD video, and I'd like to derive a greater resolution image from it for disc casing cover. Is there a way to interpolate several extracted HD images to get more details, since each video frame is a bit different, though filmed from same position? Is this possible? If yes, which software to use?

I'm planning on taking film editing courses at my university and majoring in it, I was wondering how should I go about getting a job as a film editor. Should I become an assistant editor to gain experience or should I just get a job at a company and edit videos for them. I would like to be able to edit film trailers, commercials, shows and maybe even some films. I would just like some advice from actual film editors.

English and Media Production. English consisting primarily of composition (writing for business, functional grammar, etc.) and film theory (issues on cinema & culture, film aesthetics, etc.) courses. Media Production consisting primarily of film production (cinematography, video direction, etc.) courses and pop culture studies (media, culture & society, media ethics, etc.) courses. Would my chances of getting a job after graduation be increased with both majors? What kind of jobs could I get with these 2 majors? Not jobs like 'lawyer' or 'teacher' that require further education or certification.
