I received a graphic designer job offer from an employer in Bahrain. My salary will be $700.00 (Seven Hundred US Dollar only) which includes transport and housing allowance.
Is it a reliable income? Can I still send remittances to my family with that salary after housing & transportation expenses are deducted?
I appreciate your urgent help. Thanks!

Hey guys graphic design is my major, how can I make a graphic designer resume. I've never held a graphic designer job or internship, and I've just worked retail jobs like Macy's.
I have tried to find job posting about graphics design for entry level job.
however, most of them demand about 3 years experience. I have met most of their requirement for graphic design in computer software. I also have three internship experience in different companies during my school which was related to their demand field : advertising, newspaper, publishing .
Is it appropriate for me to apply job which required at least 1 or 2 years of experience?
I have hard time trying to find entry job in this field.

I've been told that I should try graphic design in college (I'm a junior in high school now) & as a career. But, what does a graphic designer do? What kinds of jobs would one who majors in graphic design in college have after graduating? What classes should I take now to prepare to major in it in college if it's something I want to do?
Thanks in advance! =)
P.S. - If you think I'll get better answers in another category (Y!A suggested this one and the Visual Arts category), please let me know. Thanks!
I am a career Executive and Administrative Assistant but I want a position in a creative environment in Chicago, IL. If I go to Monster, HotJobs or CareerBuilder and put in keywords like Desktop Publishing or Adobe Illustrator, it sends back Graphic Designer jobs.

This question goes to graphic designers who have jobs or have been interns...not to students like myself, obviously I haven't been hired by a studio because I'm still earning my degree but I was just curious.
Also, is it difficult to get a job as a graphic designer in a good studio?
As long as you have all the education required to become a graphic designer, will it be easy to get a job as one?
I am thinking of becoming a graphic designer, but can they have multiple jobs? For example, can they work for a magazine company to design page layouts? Or can they do web design? Can they design animated characters? Do they have to stick to one job only and work for a certain company for the rest of your working life? Or can they go from place to place. Is a bachelor's degree necessary? How much is their salary? I would really appreciate your help!
Also, what classes should i take when attending University?
I am a seasoned graphic designer but have been in a sort of "time capsule." Since I have been doing the same design work for a corporation, I haven't had to learn anything new for the past 5 years. However I am looking to find a new job but I want to keep up on my skill sets. So what programs, apps, coding language would be necessary? I would like to consider that I am both, a print and web designer.
I am a graphic designer who is currently job hunting. I joined NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) yesterday. I know the benefits to me as a person and that is why I joined. But what are the benefits of adding this to my resume? Would this give me an advantage over other candidates who may not be part of this? Same goes for AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts), although I am not part of this group yet.
Right now I'm going through the college course for a graphic designer degree. But, the job I want to do in the future is to animate TV shows. So, I my question is that can I still get my degree and be a animator as well?
