I want to do an Animation and Illustration course in uni but I'm not sure what career choices I will have afterwards... I am currently in college studying ICT. On my course, the first year is a taste of the three different paths that you can go down on the second year. One of them is networking, one of them is web design, and one of them is interactive media. If I take interactive media in the second year, the topics I cover will be Project Management, Systems Analysis and Design, Computer Game Platforms & Technologies, Digital Graphics for Interactive Media 2D Animation Production and Server Side Scripting. I want a job working as an animator, designing and creating things for films like the tiger from "The Life of Pi". Am I on the right path? What should I study at university?

I would like to get a degree in animation and media arts at the art institutes of pitsburg online division, but since there aren't a whole lot of jobs open, I was wondering if I can still get a job in graphic design. They don't really have job openings in animation in montana, but there are quite a few in graphic design. I really want to be an animator, but I still have to make a living somehow if I can't find a job. Please answer. Thanks.
