I was an intern at an investment firm. I do not want to apply to be a financial advisor at the firm and am waiting until I find another job. Now, they have my title as "Client Service Associate" (another name for secretary). Would it better to quit the job than to be known as a secretary?

How do you include a salary history on a functional-based resume/cover letter? I am enclosing the job description with the question: http://www.sdmart.org/info-jobs.html#paid and click on Visitor Services Associate. I am also curious to know if I should try for the job anyway even if I'm not proficient in MS Outlook. I'm not but I am more than willing to become proficient at it. Thanks for any help and/or suggestions. NOTE: After clicking on Visitor Services Assoc., scroll down to the actual job description!

How can I check out his wins and losses and basically his job performance? I've only heard horror stories about Public Defenders, has anyone had a personal experience with one in the court system? Some people believe that there are only 2 kinds of Public defenders- Not good enough Attorney's to be hired by a law firm, or they have taken this position because they have political ambitions. Any input? Thanks for your input sensible, but you didn't really answer my question about checking his record. . .

I graduated a year ago with a degree in biology (b.s.). I have been trying to find a job ever since. I live in cleveland, oh and the problem I keep running into is that every job is a sales job. I AM NOT A SALESPERSON!!! I am very smart and a job that does not utilize this will be short lived. I need something that allows me to make decisions and does not involve selling. Going back to school is not an option as I need money and WILL NOT move home to live with my parents. So unless it is something that allows me to go to school part time while working full time, it is not an option. I am very open minded, all I really need is decent pay, bennefits, and the ability to think for myself so I dont get bored and quit. I am currently working part time in retail, with little room for advancement as the only real position to move into is store management which is a very competitive sales position. My sales numbers are not good at all. I also work part time teaching at risk 6th graders, but i am not a licensed teacher. I do enjoy the job, but the long hours of a teacher and low pay are most likely not for me. biology is just a degree, a job with biology is not important or really even anything worth considering. Sales jobs are the only real jobs I find available.

I was laid off from my job as an office manager for a construction company. If I open my own clerical service business, would it look better to clients if I had a degree? I've already started my Associates but haven't finished. Thanks for the advice.

Not just women's rights, but more like the ending of poverty and helping people in general. I'm considering some mix of gender studies, human services, sociology, and spanish. Any ideas or suggestions? I did consider political science, but I'd rather do something more hands on, like the Peace Corps or being involved in NOW or Women for Women. Maybe I'll toss that in the mix as well, though.
