 | I have a chance for a full time 8 hours a day five days a week job as a customer service representative for this pharmacy company in my area. I was just wondering what the job was like. Should I take it?
I know it's basically answering phones and customer problems right? Possibly getting yelled at?
Of course the yelling happens now with my current job. I work in a department store and have to deal with customers there.

 | I graduated in 2010 and I have under a year of experience working for two office jobs since then. I am making a horrible wage with $8 an hour. However I am considering a customer service representative at a local airport that makes more and overtime. I am wanting to do something big sometime in the future that I can make more money. I am also considering the fact that if I my mom dies, then I am left with nothing. So should I stay there or move on to CSR?

 | On some of the jobs I'm interested and believe I am qualified for it says bachelor's degree preferred. However, I don't have a bachelor's degree. It's a customer service representative job, which is what I do now. I've worked in customer service for 7 years so I know I have the experience and skill necessary but am not sure how to go around the bachelor's degree part of it so they'll at least consider me.
Thanks in advance!

 | I graduated from university last year and worked at a small company after, couldn't stand it because it was too far away from my house and there was no room for advancement, so I quit. My position was an Administrative Assistant, where I performed accounting duties and answered phones, that sort of thing. Right now I want to find a job at a bigger company, preferably a bank, but the only ones I seem to be qualified for are call centre jobs (the ones where you sit at a desk with a head piece all day), or customer service representative positions (the ones where you sit behind a counter all day and get yelled at by disgruntled customers).
I would like to know from anyone who has any experience with these types of jobs whether if it is even worth applying to. I want to know if I stick it out is there any room for advancement within the company, what these jobs are really like, how much the pay is, etc.

I'm having a hard time finding openings in this field, although many companies offer this to their customers. Does anyone out there know of a job bank that focuses on jobs like this one?

 | I recently applied for a job at a local YMCA as a customer service representative. I have 5 years experience in that field. I retired from our local phone company, and am 55 years old. I also worked behind the desk, at another gym, for 2 years. Upon completion of interview, I asked that I be called either way upon their decision. They said they would call but never did. I have since seen that jobs have been filled by two young guys that probably haven't been out of school for 5 years. I truly feel that my age counted against me. Does anyone know the proper course of action I could possibly take?

 | In a couple days I'm going in to complete a series of assessments (?) at a bank. I don't know if I should wear a suit w/jacket or just a nice shirt and tie. I don't want to wear a suit if it is complete overkill considering it's a job (bilingual customer service representative) that uses mostly the phone for communication. However I don't want to be unprofessional. Any suggestions?
