 | The only thing that comes to my mind are computer helpdesk jobs or social work. If you can think of specific starter jobs you've had please list them as well. Thanks.

 | I currently live in Dallas, TX, soon to be moving to Denver. I almost have my A+ and Network+ certifications. What resources can you recommend I use to find an entry level PC Tech or even helpdesk job?

 | I've been working in HelpDesk and desktop support for the past 4 years. The HelpDesk job was more of a customer support type of deal.
The other desktop support job was pretty basic as well.
I got a new job and everyday I get new challenging problems and I'm afraid the business is starting to notice I'm sort of clueless.
How can I learn the technical stuff I need to know in order to be a good tech?

 | I have some computer experience. Basically I know almost everything about windows OS. I know some web design, and I'm good with electronics. I am not quite an expert with MS Office, but I have a good knowledge of it. I'd like to land a helpdesk job or something along those lines, maybe a call center or something. What are some good tactics and types of positions that I can look into?

 | I went to ITT Technical Institute and got two degrees: one in web development and another in system administration. Both are two-year degrees. I am pursuing certs in Java and Cisco and various web development certs. I currently work helpdesk on a contract, and it pays pretty good for a helpdesk job since the client we do helpdesk for is the hardest to support. Doing well on that job, just need to know where to go from here. What the next big thing? Where are the jobs going to be in a few months?

 | I have basic tech support knowledge, but I need to know the ends and outs, so to say. Are there books or e-learning programs out there that will prepare me for a basic helpdesk job?
Thanks.

 | I'm qualified for the position as far as tertiary education goes. I haven't had extensive experience with problem-solving-via-the-phone helpdesk, I'm not really good with phone conversations. I'm dreading not being able to help someone with their problem. It's in the mining sector.

 | I don't like programming, but I think that I could finish the degree if I wanted to. I am working a part-time IT Helpdesk job right now, and I like it a lot. If i want a job that is not programming, would a COSC degree look better than and IT degree to an emplyer?

 | Hi. I have a bachelor's in Computer Science, but I wasn't ready when I took it. I was just getting started with computers, so it was kind of a little to much for me at the time.
After graduation I've managed to get Desktop support jobs, and helpdesk jobs, but I so much hate them.
I'm tired of dealing with people and their moods, specially if they are VPs or managers, and anything that goes wrong goes directly to your manager.
I'm tired of people expecting me to be a machine and fix problems in a second and expect me to know about every single obscure error out there and if I don't fix it right away act is if I'm not fit for my job.
I'm tired of depending on network engineers and other towers, that don't respond and then all of the people come yelling at me for something I don't even have access to.
I want to move to something else, that doesn't require support but just sitting on my desk responding only to one boss, rather than the whole company, and not putting up fires. I see every other person in every other position so relaxed and earning good money.
It would be harder for me to jump from Desktop support to accounting for example, but what roles in IT don't require so much stress?
I think I'm going crazy.
Thanks

 | I know it has something to do with IT but other jobs can I look up and/or apply for only with this certification and a high school diploma. By the way I'm 17.

 | I am 6 classes away from having a bachelor's degree in MIS. I've been going to school full time so I haven't had any job, which means I have NO experience. Everything I have seen is wanting 2 or more years experience to be able to get even a helpdesk job. Any suggestions on how I could break through in the IT industry and get my foot in the door?
I live close to Huntsville, AL

 | I am a student who will graduate high school very soon. I was looking to get a summer job in the IT field using an A+ (cisco) certification. I was wondering what kind of jobs would be available to someone like me who has literally no experience. Details about how much the pay is and whether or not part time positions would be available are appreciated. Any information on specific examples is helpful as well. (you don't have to find a specific job or anything, just a general idea is fine.)
