I know you're supposed to be able to form good relationships with authors as one. I'm fifteen at the moment - do you think I'll overcome my shyness in time for when I apply for a book editor job? Or should I just stay away from the idea altogether? (Even though I really want to become one).

If anyone knows of a site that might answer the questions I would apprecite them! I've been to a lot of sites already so I might recognize a few some people might recommend. I just wanted to be clear on what kind of degree (bachelor's, associate's or masters's) is required, a two year or a four year degree, what kind of basics things I should already know before getting to be a film editor, jobs I should have and how to find them in my local area (I live in South Hampton Roads area in Virginia). That kind of thing.

Or maybe the question is, how did the famous fashion editors get job at Vogue, Elle and so on? I am interested in fashion journalism and i would like to be a fashion editor as well. I wonder what do you have to do to be one? How did Emmanuelle Alt, Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld and them became editors? Do you need to be a model first, or you just need to study journalism and fashion and try to get a job at those magazines? I really appreciate every answer i get, please answers if you know anything. Thanks!

When making a film, I know that there are hundreds of jobs on any given set. Is there a specific position for someone to work with the movie and choose the songs for the film and where they go? Is that part of the editor's job? Is that something that the director does? Or is that a whole other job? If so, what is that job title? I know that there are composers for film scores, but I don't mean that film st. Thanks!

I have a strong interest in working at a magazine (like the Globe&Mail) when I'm older, not so much as a journalist, but in some other part of the company. I've been interested in becoming a Photo Editor but that job might even be obsolete by the time I'm old enough to work (i'm 15 now), so my question is; what other kinds of jobs are available at a magazine? and what would I need to do school-wise?

I love fashion and beauty and love writing and reading. I also love magazines. Writing for a good magazine in New York has been my one and only dream of mine. I want to be a fashion/beauty editor for either: Seventeen, Cosmogirl, or Allure magazine. Everytime people ask me what I want to do when I grow up I tell them I want to be a fashion magazine editor for one of my favorite magazines. They always laugh it me and tell me how stupid the job is. They also I shouldn't do it because it's hard business. And that it takes a long time to become an editor. Is my job that I want to do stupid? What should I do? I'm so discouraged ....

I would really like to work at a magazine, I'm not really fussed about what kind of magazine, though something in fashion would be a dream. So I know I would have to work up to some of these jobs, but I don't really understand what the roles of these kind of job titles are? assistant jobs, editor jobs, consultant jobs, writing jobs. I mean I can guess, but I'd rather know in a little more detail the kind of things expected of you :)

Have you found the perfect job that you would do even if they didn't pay you at all? The job that you would feel like you were not really working but actually doing something that you really like and then on top of that being paid for it? In your opinion or to your best knowledge, what percentage of the population have their dream jobs? Is it really possible to find the perfect job? Are we all biased by our culture when it comes to choosing or accepting a job? Are we all primarily driven by money instead of true interests and abilities?

Or does that person just fix sound levels and clean up noise? I looked around online to find a detailed description of that job but couldn't find much what i'm looking for.
