I'm interested in pursuing a degree in education, I'd like to work as an "Educational Administrator". While I'm getting my degree though, what kind of jobs should I apply for. What are some jobs that will give me good experience to later fulfill an educational administrator job? Where else can I get further information about this?

If someone is interested in teaching for several years (5-10) but ultimately would like to work as an administrator, is job competition fierce? Do most teachers prefer the classroom or is it expected that many people will apply for a position if/when one opens?

I understand that being a flight attendant gets free travel, teachers get summers off, and education administrators get free tuition for themselves and families, but are there any other careers that give incentives that only a lot of money could buy.

I am helping my husband get a job in Austin, Texas. He has a background in computers and art. He is interested in working in the video game industry. Most of the sites seem to send in an electronic application. I'm wondering if there is a better way. I'm in education and had to do a lot of "off the rules" tactics in my job search (one walk in got me the administrator's job) Any hints would help.

(without going to grad school) I am looking into teaching ESL abroad. Maybe working in education as an administrator or something after. My current major is linguistics but since I'm a native speaker idk how much it would help finding work anyway- demand for teachers is already high and the major seems better suited for a speech therapist than someone who wants to learn a lot of languages.

I am working on a master's degree in special education and I am considering working my way up to director of special education. I have seen that some options may be a master's degree in educational administration or principal certificate. Just wondering what my best bet would be.

We are relocating to the the Dallas area, more specifically McKinney. My wife has applied at over 20 districts in and around Dallas in hopes of getting interviewed for a job. Unfortunately we are now close to July and she has received no phone calls. She has been attempting to visit schools and talk to principles but has not received a lot of attention from the schools. Is she doing something wrong or are we doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My wife is a terrific person as well as caring teacher and has great recommendations from her previous school.

I'm entering my senior year and I want to go into higher education. I like Student Affairs but I don't want to limit myself to that one area. I'm looking for a degree that I can use in multiple areas so that if I don't like one area, I can do well in another. Does anyone have any program suggestions?

My family wishes to eventually open a daycare...my sister is going into business so she would take care of that part but since I was going into education anyway, I would be in charge of that aspect. What degree would I need to become a director of a daycare? I would like it if I could major in elementary education instead of early childhood because if the daycare thing doesn't work out at least an elementary education degree has more teaching grade options than early childhood.

I am looking for a career change into an IT field. I have a Bachelors in Finance, and have a beginner/intermediate level of knowledge in computers. I have been researching several different fields over the past several weeks and Network Admin has caught my attention. It also seems that certifications will open opportunities for job prospects. Another 4 year degree is out of the question. So, what paths would you IT professionals recommend? Would you entertain an Associates Degree and then move towards becoming certified in A+, CCNA, etc? Another option that is less expensive and would be a faster transition that I have come across is Ed2Go that offers a series of classes that prepares the student to take different certification exams. Obviously, the most important factor is to understand and be able to solve the issues in a job environment, as well as being qualified and marketable to re-enter the job market at an entry-mid level position. Any advice will be appreciated. I would also be interested to here about any specific certifications that are projected to be in higher demand that someone at my level would be able to attain within 2 years. Thanks!
